Alright, while I had been suggested an item that could work for this, I think I'd still prefer the item I have in my mind. I'm just curious as to how I would make the item I'm thinking of.
The item:
I'm thinking of a pendent / necklace that can attune other items and when the owners of those items needs the person holding the pendent / necklace, they can say a command word and alert / alarm the pendant / necklace owner like the alarm spell. It needs to be long range, so it can work city to city. It would be cool if when it alerts you, that you automatically know which person or their item alerted you.
Sorry if its a bit confusing, but that is what I was thinking. Is this possible? How would I make it and how much would it cost?
I was thinking it'd use the alarm spell, but it's no where near long range enough and of course can't be attuned to specific items for use as a signal.
Any help would be much appreciated.

An item of sending might work. Probably expensive, but it could be just the ticket.
