Hi guys...
So I have built Thornkeep in 3-d Terrain and have began running the Modules ( great fun)

I do have a few questions for my fellow Gm's on a few encounters..
our party consisted of a
gunslinger lvl 1
ranger lvl 1
rogue lvl 1
cleric lvl 1
sorcerer lvl 2

I've run the level 5 times now. I don't think it scales well.
A lot of the top level is "pedestrian encounters in big cool rooms". The center room with the statues and the balcony and all (A3-4) is cool. And you fight a few goblins, who don't have any interesting tactics. The long room with the reflecting pool is cool. And you fight four skeletons, who don't have any interesting tactics. The tiered room with the brackish water is cool. And you guessed it: a handful of goblins, no tactics.
So, most fights are straight-forward, and even a party of brand-new, 150-gp-and-a-mule PCs should do well. They are banal for 2nd-level PCs. But then there's stirges! And fungus-crickets! And a wight! And a shadow! Those fights are pretty tough for guys with one hit die. So it's uneven.
I'm of the opinion that getting to know the town, especially goblin chief Groosk and the Blue Basilisks, helps a ton. Having healing easily available and half market price is very convenient. Having suspicions about Silvercrown helps prepare people for the wight. Talking with Chief Groosk helps the party if they want to parley with the goblins.

Personally I had the goblins retreat and run away several times ( being cowards)the gunslinger made quick work of the stirges, but the shadow ( ouch) he did same damage to the party since no one was able to identify it ( bad rolls)

I really like this idea, for 2nd-level parties. The PCs run into five goblins, all of whom run away. Four escape.
Then the party runs into eight goblins. They run away, and six escape.
Then, in the cavern, when the party meets Murgmo, she's got a cadre of eight goblins with her. That's an awesome fight.

a near TPK since party activated 2 encounters at once ( ouch) but they were able to tactically retreat and finish it.
