Flyby Attack vs Spring Attack

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

Does anyone have any insight as to why flyby attack is so much more forgiving than spring attack?

Flyby attack says you can take any standard action in the middle of your move, while spring attack is one of those "special full-round actions" that basically says "don't try to combine me with anything or I will make you cry."

What gives?

Fly By Attack also provokes an AoO, Spring Attack doesn't.

Sczarni

necromental has it. They are different feats that do different things. Flyby Attack is great for large-sized flying creatures with a natural reach. Spring attack is great for PCs that don't like provoking attacks of opportunity.

Flyby attack is also great for Strix characters with reach weapons. ^_^
