If a creature has only one natural attack, it is always made using the creature’s full base attack bonus and adds 1-1/2 times the creature’s Strength bonus on damage rolls. This increase does not apply if the creature has multiple attacks but only takes one. If a creature has only one type of attack, but has multiple attacks per round, that attack is treated as a primary attack, regardless of its type.

Aasimars have a feat tree that can culminate in them getting a pair of wings. It says "You gain two wing attacks. These are secondary natural attacks that deal 1d4 points of slashing damage (or 1d3 if you are Small)."

Does the bold line above mean that if I use the metal wings and nothing else, they count as primary atttacks?

No, because you have two wing attacks.

The Exchange

Yes, but they are two wing attacks. The line in bold specifies that it is the fact of a single type, regardless of the number of attacks of that type, that determines whether the rule operates.

But does it operate when the wings are specifically called out as secondary natural attacks?

I would say yes since you only have one type of attack. That's quite a huge list of requirements for that feat just to get the wing attacks and they only do 1d4. Keep in mind, if you attack with a manufactured weapon in the same round, your natural attacks are made at a -5 penalty anyway.

Specific overrides general. General rule says they can be primary, but specific rule says secondary.

Jay is correct, but I don't know why he is mad about it.

Scarab Sages

I'd say no. Your character, as long as he has hands, has other types of attack, whether you decide to use them, or not

Grand Lodge

I would say no, for Jay's reason. Feytharn, hands are not natural attacks. Claws might be, if you have them.
