Words of power. The good. The bad. The ugly.

Advice

So is played a lot if casters, but never used words of power. I favor wizards, but clerics and Druids are fun too.

For those who have used WOP what's the good, bad, and ugly for arcane casters? Divine?

Basically assuming I know nothing about WOP what do you like or dislike?

Flexibility. Versatility. A little less powerful than regular casting, but gives a degree of enviable flexibility.

A Cleric under the WOP system can cast several low-level buffs in a single round.

A Wizard can do the same.

A blaster type Sorcerer can blast even better (imagine a fireball that also does ice damage and force damage, all at the same time, and since you've Spontaneous you can do it next round and next and after that too).

There's no Wish or Miracle. Cure spells are d6 based but are cast at a range of close instead of touch.

Metamagic works normally, or you can spend a spell known slot (page in your spellbook, etc.) to learn a word form of Metamagic that can be used almost for free (no cast time adjustment, may not adjust spell level) X times per day.

Most of your basic spells are covered (Haste, Fly, Cure) but some obscure ones may not be.

Dimension Door (Dimensional Hop) becomes a 3rd level spell that allows you to teleport anywhere within line of sight (close, or father by Boosting) with no line saying you lose any available action afterwards (Quicken Dimensional Hop, then cast your nuke).

Standard action summoning.

Edit: Each word (not word spell) takes up a spell known slot. You also eat slots for metawords (but not target words).

Boosting the Selected target word increases the entire spell's level by 3.

A word spell with several words that operate on different timers (1 round, rounds/level, minutes/level, etc.) operate at a whole on your lowest timer, meaning that awesome 10 minute/level buff coupled with that round/level buff operates at rounds/level.
