Hello Pathfinder Community!
I'm coordinating family Pathfinder gaming events for Pacificon this year. We have events planned for two age groups, teens (ages 11-15) and young players (ages 6-10). This is a great opportunity to share your favorite hobby with your kids! A full schedule is at the end of this email and you can buy Pacificon passes here .
Event summary
We’re running three types of sessions.
- Pathfinder Society scenarios for teens - 6-person tables, ages 11-15 and parents only. Parents not required.
- Kids Track - 4-person tables, ages 6-10 and parents. These are 2-hour sessions that will include intro/teaching material from the Paizo Kids Track guide and one Beginner Box Bash adventure. There are currently 4 adventures released. More will be released right around Gencon, and we are hoping they will be available for Pacificon. Parents are required to sit at the table with their kids -- either playing or not. These sessions will be held in the Pacificon Young Players room.
- Pathfinder Society scenarios for young players - 6-person tables, ages 6-10 and parents only, 4-hour slots. Intended for kids with some Pathfinder experience. Parents are required to sit at the table -- either playing or not. These sessions will be held in the Pacificon Young Players room.
Judging
- We are looking for GMs who are interested in working with kids. You should have prior experience working or playing with children in the age range you are judging.
- Pathfinder Society Scenario family event judging is credited the same way as mainstream PFS event judging at Pacificon. For Kids Track, you get 1 slot of GM credit if you GM two 2-hour Kids Track sessions. Family judging is interchangable with mainstream judging. For example, you could earn a weekend badge by volunteering to judge Fabric of Reality for adults, Mists of Mwangi for teens, and two Kids Track Sessions.
- If you are interested in judging family events:
Sign up for teen slots on the Warhorn site.
PM me if you’d like to judge young player events.

Some more awesome developments:
Are you a PFS Organizer in our area (or former) and planning on attending PacifiCon 2013?
We qualify an organizer as one of the following:
~ One who creates and musters games that are sanctioned (and reported) for PFS Play
~ One who finds GM’s for tables (or does the GMing yourself)
~ Are a store liason for a store that hosts PFS (or wishes to be!)
If you organize PFS games in our Bay Area, Sacramento, Central Valley or further Northern California, please shoot me an email at solanoyolpfs@gmail.com.. We have not only something special for you at the convention, but we are working on a greater community project so we are trying to get all the organizers information!

Do you have a GM for Eyes of the Ten? If not, I will humbly place my hat into the ring. I'll also be happy to run Bonekeep again ;)
Hey Alex!
You are more than welcome to be their GM if you wish.. I was planning on running it, but I am more than happy to step aside!
I finally am going to play Bonekeep at PacifiCon (Chose to play Rivalry's End instead at PaizoCon.) So whomever wants to attempt to kill Elliott my Cleric of Gorumn is welcome to try!

I'll be running Bonekeep. I've got the markers for people to sign the map where they die. I'm looking to add a big ol Lady Ophelia to one of the rooms...but is she up for the challenge?
Mariposa, my Battle Oracle of Sarenrae, accepts your challenge sir. And she is preparing now for battle. I hope you are ready to cry when I walk away the survivor.

I do accept hugs (especially from Cherry Pie), oh yes and chocolate as a means of offering congratulations (I'll collect yours, Venus, on Monday.
We have many scenarios on offer at Pacificon (including much Goblin Chaos) and you can come and start season 5 with us (beware of the demons)!!!!
So sign up, gather your dice and head for Santa Clara this Labour Day (yes I did spell 'Labour' right. We Venture Leftenants do have a tendency to let our Brit show sometimes.
See you in August if not before.

Goblins, Demons, Hugs, AND Chocolate for gifts? Already so demanding on week one!
**Grumbles while she fetches ;)**
Well my gift is more along the lines of Napa Valley Wine... As it is a custom to give a bottle of good alcoholic beverages when you become a BAPS Leader or take on a convention of Master Painlord's for the first time.. (I'm still waiting for mine BTW Azmyth...)

Venus
Just emailed you - do you still need any GM's? I may be available for a day or two perhaps more - have to check with my wife about which days. In particular I'd be very interested in running Bonekeep (since I've already played it once) - and I really enjoy running high tier scenarios and modules - and really enjoy running Thornkeep scenarios.

Crud, when did this new standards policy start?
Is that like a 5.0 rules thing?
No. We've always had our standards policy which was created by Master Painlord. He then taught his standards to his minions by beating them into us from the very beginning.
However, to date Lady Verdigris and I were the only ones to survive the training process. :D

And Now: A Message from Skillmar, head of our Young Pathfinders Recruitment Department:
As many of you know, Pacificon is coming up during Labor Day Weekend at the Santa Clara Marriott. In addition to a full range of Pathfinder Society tables, we are running tables for teens (age 11-15) and young players (age 6-10). The teen tables are posted on our Warhorn site, but, due to convention rules, we have not posted our young player tables there.
It has been more challenging to recruit GMs for the young player tables because they are not posted on Warhorn. We have two flavors of slots -- Kids Track tables using Beginner Box rules and regular PFS scenarios. Both are for kids ages 6-10 and their parents (parents are required to be at the tables). These tables count towards Paizo GM stars and towards GM credit (which can earn you a free pass) at the convention.
This is a great opportunity to introduce your kids to Pathfinder, and I encourage you to attend Pacificon with your kids. If you are interested in learning more about GMing young player tables, or if you have any questions about young player and teen tables, please email me directly.
So you heard the man! Get in and help us recruit the next generation of Society Members!!

We are SEVEN DAYS away from the weekend of win!!
Some final preperation advice!!
Avoiding Con Crud:
A gathering of a couple thousand people is likely to also bring several billion germs to the party as well. If you know you are sick, reconsider contaminating everyone. If your getting over something, take extra precautions to contain your potential germ spreading!
Here are some of things we recommend to prevent getting the dreaded Crud:
Before Con-
* Take Echinacea to build up your immune system.
* Take Crash Doses of Vitamin C.
* Take Airborne to prevent getting sick.
At Con-
* Bring/use anti-bacterial hand cleaner often.
* Wash your hands twice as often as normal.
* Take Airborne to prevent getting sick.
* Drink tons of water. (If you drink other beverages (like ale), make sure you supplement with water before going to bed.)
* Drink tea!! Any will do, but caffeine free is the best to keep the vocal cords relaxed!
* If you start getting hoarse, make sure you have some cough drops with you so you don't lose your voice! Trust me, you do *not* want to lose your voice.
Good Luck!
Good Health!
Great Gaming!

I'm signed up to run stuff! And I'm a store coordinator! But I don't get to share any tables with John and Wendy. :(
Well, maybe the siege. But who knows how that will muster.
Who is this Wendy of which you speak, has my husband been seeing other women?????
and who knows how that will muster? We do.....:-)

Looking forward to Pacificon - should be able to play one slot on Saturday (may make it for one slot on Friday - not sure yet), will run one Kids track game Saturday, may run a table for the Special and am running a module (Doom comes to Dustpawn) on Sunday.
However I'm looking for someone either to carpool with on Sunday OR a room to share Saturday evening so that my wife can have the car on Sunday (we share one car - and she has to go to a birthday party in San Francisco with our newborn son Sunday afternoon)
Anyone driving up to Pacificon on Sunday morning from around Palo Alto? Or anyone have a spare bed in their hotel room Saturday evening (happy to chip in for the room)

PacifiCon is now in the books!!
Reporting is going to be done soon, so be patient...
Based on tentative numbers we had over 100+ Tables of games, not including our Young Players room which had 6 tables of PFS going on during the weekend! Congrats to our brave Pathfinders on achieving an OVERWHELMING VICTORY in Siege of The Diamond City and to all of the survivors of Bonekeep, the Silent Grave!
We want to thank not only our scheduled GM's, but all the GM's who stepped up during the weekend, to make sure we turned away NO ONE!! It's an amazing thing to watch our community step up to the plate to make sure that everyone gets a chance to join in on the fun and that's a true testament to the awesomeness that is the Bay Area Pathfinder Society.
So now that we're all done, we want your input on how to make not only next's year's convention even better, but our sister conventions ConQuest Avalon and ConQuest Sacramento better as well! If you could fill out our "Post-Convention" Form, it will help us better grow the convention to meet your needs! (You can be completely anonymous!)
Feedback Form is Available Here: PFS Feedback Forum!
Stay tuned friends! Next up on our list is the debut of ConQuest Avalon in Sacramento! I am completely excited as it will be in my home area and I can't wait to see what our Leadership team has in store!
On behalf of myself, and the entire PacifiCon Decemvirate, thanks so much for an awesome convention!

| 2 people marked this as a favorite. |
Reporting at midday, having just crawled out of bed.
I counted all the Pacificon reporting sheets (twice cos my brain switched off halfway through). I come up with a total of 120+ tables including the young player/teen tables, the boon Goblin has never been so busy. She must sleep now. The uncertainty as to exactly how many tables is due to the fact that modules ended early and I'm not sure how many (Sunday was nuts).
I'd like to echo Venus' thanks to all those who stepped up to judge, both on Warhorn and at the event. I hate turning people away and I didn't have to do that at all this weekend. Also, I'd like to thank the players for being patient, helpful, friendly and FUN!!!! The mustering got a little crazy in places but thanks to everyone's cooperation we got everyone seated by at most 10 minutes into every session.
Reporting will happen, but first I must have more sleep, and oh yes I have to go back to work, and of course there is more sleep, oh and a card game demo this evening at Game Kastle that John and I are doing for the great people at GK.
We came home last night with a bag of plastic minis labelled dwarves and they are upsetting the horde of goblins that live here. If anyone knows what hole in the ground they came out of please let us know.
Our (john and I) next con will will be Dundracon, hope to see all of you (and your friends) there
The boon goblin must now make tea and learn how to play this card game.

OK, I have reported almost all of the tables for this year's Pacificon on the Paizo site(I am still working on getting the Bonekeep tables entered).
Please check out your entries (if you care) and let me know if I need to make any changes. I have just aweek to make any changes as I need to hand over the login to the Solano PFS group; the event was entered under their PFS account.
