I'll be starting up my first Pathfinder campaign ever soon and I'm looking for some help with builds. Some background: I've played a little bit of 4e (got bored of it pretty fast) but am generally inexperienced with tabletop RPG systems.
That being said I'm going to be our party's Wizard. I was looking at some Wizard stuff and Spellslinger caught my eye. I love the theme of it. There were two different builds that used Spellslinger that I managed to find: 1 Sorcerer (Crossblooded)/x Wizard (Spellslinger) and 1 Gunslinger/5 Wizard (Spellslinger)/x Eldritch Knight. I already have a pretty good idea of how the first build works so my question is how does the latter build work and what would that sort of build look like?

I would imagine it would use the wizard abilities and the bonus fighter feats to augment itself to operate in a similar manner to a typical Gunslinger only with the added advantage of also being able to support itself and it's group with spells.
I don't know if you have or not yet but make sure to check with your GM to see if gunslinger or spell slinger is alright for the game. They might not be accounting for the class and you'd end up being very reliant on make your own firearms, gunpowder and the like if they aren't going to.

Checked with the GM, he knows I'll be using Spellslinger and is okay with that. So essentially the difference is Sorc/Wizard works like a standard Wizard but with a gun that happens to be your focus (which has some unique nuances attached to it) and the Gunslinger/Wizard/Eldritch Knight works more like a Gunslinger with the utility of a Wizard at its disposal?

Your going to have a lot more BAB to work with so you'll be hitting quite easily in the first range band and shouldn't have too much difficulty outside of it. The bonus fighter feats and qualifying will help bring up your gun damage with weapon specialization and the like so you should be quite adept at it as you get more powerful.
So yeah you should operate a bit more like a Gunslinger.

I would definitely consider taking this Feat. You can now turn your Touch spells into Ranged Touch Spells, which allows you to fire them with your gun. If you play with traits pick a signature spell with magical Lineage you will always spam through your gun.
At low levels Spell Specialisation can do wonders for your damage.
The most important thing is looking out for some nice useable ray/line /touch spells:
1: Ray of Enfeeblement, Shocking Grasp(with Reach Spell), Color Spray, Burning Hands
2: Reach Touch of Idiocy, Scorching Ray, Reach Ghoul Touch
