A friend and I are looking for ways to continue gaming while our "Reign Of Winter" GM is on night shift (yes, two person party). I mentioned how the Mythic rules may make it possible to solo an Adventure Path (at least that's what Paizo staffers said in the various announcements).
Did anyone actually try that? If so, how did it work out?

I actually run an AP under-manned without Mythic. If you're using XP, and the players are using ingenuity, you eventually hit equilibrium. The PCs level faster, but each challenge is more risky with fewer people.
I'm curious to see how Mythic works out for this, but I recommend that you start a campaign rolling with just first level (or 1st level, mythic tier 1) and see how it goes.
My hunch is that the economy of actions will be rough even with the extra actions afforded to mythic characters.

Two things are important: action economy, and player skill. I've run the majority of RotRL with 2-3 people, and although there have been a couple of tight spots, they're finding it a little bit easy of late.
The following can help:
- Animal companion/eidolon. More action economy, and often very strong at lower levels where you're more vulnerable.
- Paladin. Don't ever fail saves, annihilate BBEGs with Smite, and heal yourself with LoH.
- Leadership. Get thyself some NPC cohorts!
I'm interested to see what the final Mythic rules look like. I know in playtesting there was an option to take an extra turn per round, but that seemed highly debated as to whether it should be kept or no.

I was at the Intro to Mythic at paizocon and asked this and they said they did not really get much on this back from the play test but if you want to do 2 characters mythic they should have a better chance of survival. I would wait tell the rules come out to try it as it will have extra options and more balanced rules.
