From reddit ...
The "Pathfinder Adventure Path" seminar was excellent. They announced that the AP after Wrath of the Righteous would named The Mummy's Mask and be centered on Osirion and the ancient Egyptian themes. They talked about how there's been a great response to Reign of Winter, especially "Rasputin Must Die!" and how they break the norms with the AP and travel to WWI era Earth, and that even though it was a risk, they're likely to keep taking those risks in future APs in terms of breaking the norms.

I think that sequence went out of the window at some point, and now it's more "James AP / Rob AP".
I spoke to James in the chatroom one Tuesday evening about the "pattern" of APs, and in relation to whether Numeria was possible for a GenCon announcement, or should we just forget it until next year.
He said the "pattern" was real, but it wasn't something he and Rob felt they had to adhere to absolutely, and when there was cause to deviate from it—they could and they might.
In other words, the pattern of traditional and experimental APs was not going to override the choice of what they might do. It would be based on a lot of criteria, but that alone was not going to make up his mind.
This was well before Rasputin Must Die was released.
So I think the possibilities for the August announcement are really open. I'm quite serious.

I believe that, given how many times Egypt was done in D&D gaming (the Hamunaptra boxed set, I am looking at you), Mummy's Mask squarely qualifies as a traditional AP.
And Paizo needs something heavy-hitting for GenCon '14 because that's the D&D 5E launch.
So much hopes for that being Numeria/Distant Werldz.

Thanks for the info everyone!
Personally, I'm really excited about an Osirion AP as there's a lot of cool themes to draw on and so far Paizo's done a good job with the Egyptian stuff.
Hopefully the Mummy's Mask will build on some of the really cool ideas that Michael Kortes introduced in the modules such as
I also hope that we'll see more done with Mike Shel's excellent Pyramid of Kamaria from Dungeons of Golarion. That place was so interesting that I'd be ok if the whole AP took place in that megadungeon.

Hmmmm.... Mr Kortes has not written an AP chapter since "Haunting of Harrowstone". Methinks he's about due.
And that would be a good thing, because he incites my players to gnash their teeth and cry in despair.
Okay, not as much as Vaughan, but more than most.

My Egypt Dream Team would have to be Kortes, Pett, Vaughan, Hodge, Spicer, and Jacobs, with Vaughan doing the final one.
I'd definitely have Mike Shel doing one of the APs. He's the king of dungeon crawls!
Have you read tomb of the iron medusa or the pyramid of Kamaria? Awesome stuff!

I could switch out Jacobs for Shel then. I know for me, Vaughan is the king of dungeons.
I didn't mean my comment as an insult to any of the other writers.
Slumbering Tsar was freaking awesome and Greg Vaughan rocks!
I was just pointing out that Mike Shel would probably do a great job on an old school pyramid crawl with lots of puzzles and traps.
