Looking for a good and noble cause worthy of my sword

Andoran

Liberty's Edge

An almost 7 foot tall suit of full plate armor walks in, wearing a buckler on one arm, longsword and morningstar sheathed on its belt, and a longbow and quiver strapped to its back. The large warrior removes his helmet to reveal the reptilian, snake-like face of a nagaji.

"Greetingsss, fellow Pathfindersss. I am Norowareta Nagagorjo, but mosst people call me Gorjo for short."

"I originally came to the Inner Ssea and joined the Pathfindersss to earn money to ssurvive. While I have alwayss sstrived to carry mysself with honor, I did not have particular goalsss in mind, other than perssonal glory. But eventsss as a Pathfinder, ssuch as protecting a village of innocent farmersss from wild maraudersss, reminded me of why I dreamed of being a warrior when I wass a child. There is no greater calling than protecting thosse who cannot protect themsselvesss."

[b]"Having been dissmisssed from the sservice of Amara Li, when she rescently closed the Lantern Lodge branch in the Inner Ssea, I have been ssearching for new purposse here in Abssalom. It wass recommended to me that my sstrength and ssword would be helpful in aiding thosse of Andoran in taking up armsss for the causse of freedom. Thisss sseemsss like a good and noble causse, and I would be glad to help."

"However..."

Gorjo's tall form seems to sag, and his face falls so visibly that even someone who has never met a nagaji before can tell he is upset, and reluctant to continue talking. After a visible pause, he lifts his head again and continues.

"However, I do not know if Major Maldrisss and thosse who fight for thisss causse would want one ssuch as me. I am cursssed."

"I can only sspeak the Infernal language of devilsss in battle. I had alwayss asssumed that devilsss had been toying with me, but rescent evidensce makesss me conssider otherwisse. I am sstill trying to ssort it all out."

"But if you will take me, I will dedicate my ssword to the causse of freedom, helping all thosse who are oppresssed or ensslaved, wherever the Pathfinder Ssociety ssendsss me."

Silver Crusade

"Some of us can talk with you in battle," The foot or more shorter sorceress with many tattoos peeking out from her clothes smiles up. "And your sense of tactics is probably sound. Pre-planning some moves can help much with coordination, no matter what heavenly force has decided to occupy your tongue." Her smile widens a bit, in a gorgeous, but human way.

From the sorceress' shoulder, out of a tattoo comes a tiny winged woman, who flies up to the nagaji's eye level. She makes a disgusted face, and begins speaking in the language of Hell itself. [Infernal:] "I may not like talking this way, and it sure isn't pretty, but some of us can understand you, Gorjo."

The lyrakien clears her throat, and resumes in common. "So, don't let that stop you all the time! If you want to stop slavery and stuff, and make it so all people can have liberty, feel welcome here!" And with that, she strikes a heroic (if tiny) pose, fists on her hips as she hovers in the air.

Liberty's Edge

"It'sss not a matter of jusst not being undersstood. I have to overcome that whenever I travel with other Pathfindersss. But the organization as a whole sseemsss to have many unusual people, and iss very accepting of quirksss."

"I wasss worried that the sstigma of being cursssed by devilsss might prevent Major Maldrissss and the resst of you from accsepting me. If indeed it iss devilsss who curssed me, which iss now unclear."

Silver Crusade

The tiny hovering woman opens one eye larger than the other, and gives a distinct stare at the reptile-man. "You aren't evil, so why wouldn't we accept you? It's all the bad, bad, Bad things that demons and devils do that make them... BAD!" She flies on up to the ceiling and crosses her arms over her chest, muttering under her breath in a language that isn't infernal.

Sheliantha shrugs a little. "It isn't where you came from, it's what you do, and what you intend to do. If you are for gathering and protecting the world's knowledge, and helping people while you do that, I don't see a problem with you being accepted. Explore, Report, Cooperate, and while you are at it, help with Liberty. Murder, exploitation and thuggery, well, that's not what we are about."

Liberty's Edge

A young man in an artist's clothing turns to him, in a single fluid motion. Despite his youth, his face hints of having seen many things. "We should judge others on the content of their character, the quality of their ideas, their words and their deeds. Any other measure is unworthy of a sentient being, regardless of form."

"As a Pathfinder, I have had to explore, report, and cooperate with others -- even when we had profound differences. Yet I believe that we can shape our own destinies and can do so in a framework of laws that respect the rights of individuals and unites people in common cause. What Andoran offers is a concept of a society ruled not by someone claiming a divine right of kings, nor privilege of birth, nor societal position but by the consent of all its citizens. Indeed, in a democratic society, there is no reason why, Norowareta Nagaagorjo, your opinion should matter less than any other individual."

"Each of us have something to contribute to both the Pathfinder Society and Andoran. So, I welcome you, Gorjo."

"There are those in this world who would see you as a monster, something to be owned or slain," the young man continues. "Yet what I hear are the words of someone who believes all should be free, and who should be judged by the same standards as I would judge any others. What I see is someone whose appearance is different from myself, but deserves the same rights that I demand for myself."
