Welcome to new Venture-Lieutenant, Melbourne Australia

Pathfinder Society

Lantern Lodge 4/5

I'd like to welcome Andrei Buters as our new Venture-Lieutenant, Melbourne Australia.

Andrei has been making great strides bringing new players into our hobby with evening PFS sessions at Good Games Melbourne, regular appearances at Good Games Blackburn, as well as rallying GMs when scenarios need scheduling. Local players know Andrei for his impressive character sketches as much as for his entertaining character roleplay.

Andrei will be inheriting the position from RyanK, who I'd like to thank for his help over the past year in his role as VL. Ryan has been a key member of our Blackburn PFS community, known for his dreadlocks, gnomes and strong rules knowledge. Ryan will continue to be a regular member of our Blackburn PFS group, but less of an organising capacity, as he juggles a weekend work roster with his social life.

Cheers :-)
Stephen White

Grand Lodge 4/5 Pathfinder Society Campaign Coordinator

Welcome to the team!

Grand Lodge 4/5

Thanks guys :)

I've been playing PFS for two years, but I started gaming in 2000. Before that I lived in imaginary worlds, but it hadn't been made official. Like an arcane duelist with plenty of buff spells, the campaign has just been evolving and getting bigger and better every round. Season 4 has completely surpassed my expectations and I am incredibly excited and prepared (cold iron on EVERYTHING) for Season 5. Everything is in place for PFS to explode in popularity.

Thanks to Melbourne Venture Captain Stephen White for his many years of selfless dedication to growing Pathfinder in Victoria. The Know Direction podcast guys recently found out that Melbourne was THE most popular city of origin for listeners, and I've got no doubt everyone listening was probably introduced to the game through Stephen's hard work. We have three conventions a year, two venues for PFS every week and are getting new players every month. I go to a supermarket wearing my Ruby Phoenix shirt and the dude at the till tells me he's playing a home game of Pathfinder. It's nuts.

Thanks to the first Venture Lieutenant for Victoria, Ryan Koetsveld, who brings energy, gnomish enthusiasm and a razor sharp knowledge of the rules to every table he runs. I hope your work commitments even out soon so we can have Skerek and Kolfro back at the tables.

Thanks to Al Rigg and Buzzby for doing so well in their states and showing me how it's done. Thanks also to the Melbourne players who make every adventure memorable. We now have kangaroo stats, but Down Under will not rest until we have a sanctioned PFS scenario involving the perils of Dropbears coupled with heat exhaustion rules. A 'This is a knife' scene involving Titan Maulers would not go astray either.

(I will need to tone down my messageboard sass a little bit to retain a professional standard but if I see something that really annoys me I'll take 10 minutes out of my day to whine about it on the internet. Wah, Aasimars and Tieflings. Wah, darkness rules. Wah, Gunslingers with Deadly Aim. Wah, I broke a nail. Wah wah wah)

Let's get some tables organised!

Congrats Andrei and job well done to Ryan. I had the pleasure to have Ryan as my gm at Arcanacon 2012 for a majority of my games, and one in particular : Blakros Matrimony which counts as my fave pfs session so far.

Im due in Melbourne for Arcanacon again next year which should be good.

and Andrei: Whats wrong with the gunslinger and deadly aim? :)

Grand Lodge 4/5

Matt: If the gunslinger is Samuel Revell, then everything's fine and dandy :D

Incredibly well deserved. Nice one Stephen, nice one Andrei!

Andrei runs some of the best games of Pathfinder Society I have ever played in. He roleplays, improvises and rules well, and is fantastic at getting people organised.

There's no doubt he'll be a boon to the community.

Sidenote: he's also a really amazing artist and tends to come up with these brilliant drawings out of nowhere at some point during/after games. Find some way to get him to show you, seriously.

Welcome aboard! :-)

Congratulations Andrei

No problem with your pet hates in PFS. There will always be plenty of others to chime in with their views.

And I think that it's always interesting to see your views stated even if I don't share them.

I look forward to seeing Andrei styled posts as V-L.

Andrei: Are you due over here again anytime soon? If so we will have to make sure we have games running whilst you are here.

Grand Lodge 4/5

Yeah, I'll be heading back in November for a period, but can always be found in the jewel of Australia, that is, ♫ West Australia ♫, during the Christmas season.

Congrats mate

I have been enjoying our time together as you lead us through Thornkeep (even if you did kill me.) The dedication you have shown in getting the most disorganised group together has been astounding** and foretells nothing but great progress in the PFS community with you there as Stephens' Right hand man

taffy

** By disorganised , I am including myself as the worst culprate as the life of a father of three girls (1,4,7 years old) and a time demanding wife who insists I actually do some housework and familiy stuff instead of gaming all the time, make me the hardest to work around. Oh god, I hope she is not listening. No she is not demanding she is ...... {COMMUNICATION LOST}

Silver Crusade

Just wanted to drop in to say Congrats.
