Creating new classes

Pathfinder First Edition General Discussion

So while on youtube I stumbled upon something rather cool. A video host mentioned something for pathfinder akin to the grey guard in 3.5 and I thought that would be cool to play but I also thought about taking it a step further by having a paladin with the athority to take any action to preserve the greater good.
I know I will likely not be able to play this with my group but I would like to try and make this class or archtype just for the sake of doing this. I how ever also want to have it reasonably balanced.

Are none of the current paladin archtypes suitable? The grey gaurd always struck me as being more suited as an organization than a distinct class (prestige or otherwise)but that is just preference. Try sprinkling in some shadowdancer (they were in scoundrel book before?)for a "darker" paladin, or multi in a little inquisitor for flavor, or go antipaladin and play him as someone who thinks he is doing good and doesn't know he has fallen.....

Is this just an attempt to get paladin abilities without having to adhere to the paladin code?
