From the Reaper website store, here's the second edition of the rules:
http://www.reapermini.com/OnlineStore/Books/sku-down/25101
"Features the following factions:
Crusaders
Dwarves
Elves
Nefsokar
Reven
Reptus
Mercenaries
Darkspawn
Necropolis
Overlords"
I don't know how popular but there you go. And they certainly make better miniatures...

Here is a brief description of the game
Here are some quick start rules
Although frustratingly, unless I'm blind, I don't see any advice for how many points should be in a typical army for a game or how to set up the table, so I assume the "quick start" rules are less a "start" and more of a "quick reference" for people who already play the game and own the rulebook.
Looks a little smaller scale to me than Warhammer. More like on the scale of Warmachine--can go from a skirmish to a moderately sized army. That's just my impression though.
I've never met anyone who plays Warlord mind, but I've bought loads of the minis for use for RPGs.

I love Reaper minis, and Warlord is a pretty fun game. It is far smaller in scale than Warhammer, fairly akin to a skirmish game like Warmachine or Necromunda/Mordheim. Since the game is smaller, the units are more complex with lots of special rules. I haven't played in years, however, due to the fact that Warhammer/40K and Warmachine/Hordes dominate the landscape in my area (as it does in many).
