Multi-Classed Monk FOB

Advice

The Exchange

After seeing plenty about this on various message boards. I feel that I have come up with a fool proof system for degermining the FOB bonuses for multi-classed Monks.
1: Calculate your BAB using your Monk level and BAB gained from any other classes, possibly giving the PC extra primary attacks.
2: Apply the requisite feat as determinded by your monk level. 1-7 Two Weapon Fighting, 8-14 Improved Two Weapon Fighting, 15+ Greater Two Weapon Fighting.
Example: A 6 Monk/ 6 Fighter FOB would be at +10/+10/+5/+0 with the off-hand attack at +10 coming from Two Weapon Fighting. An 8 Monk/ 6 Fighter FOB would be at +12/+12/+7/+7/+2 with the +7 additional off-hand attack coming from Improved Two Weapon Fighting as an 8th level Monk.

I can see how calculating this is confusing. I was also very confused at first, but the rules are pretty clear. A normal full attack for a 6 Monk/ 6 Fighter would be +10/+5, but when using FOB your Monk BAB= Monk level. Giving you a +12/+7/+2, then you apply the requisite feat as determinded by your Monk level. Being a 6th level Monk, its Two Weapon Fighting which gives you an off-hand attack at your highest BAB, giving you +12/+12/+7/+2. But all attacks suffer a -2 penalty, finally, leaving you with +10/+10/+5/+0.

I hopes this clears up a lot of confusion on the subject, and allows for players to make some awesome multi-classed Monks with deadly FOBs.

"Fool proof"... that's an oxymoron if I ever heard one.

Silver Crusade

Kudos to you, good sir.

would you suffer the -2 penalty twice, once from both FoB and TWF? making your atks +8/+8/+3/-2 ???

Liberty's Edge

He isn't saying take TWF with FOB, he is explaining how to calculate your FOB as if it is TWF/ITWF/GTWF at the specific BAB. They are essentially the same thing.

The Herolab program disagrees with the OP's formula...
