Campaign Rules?

GM Discussion

I have been a GM for Several years... I really enjoy Pathfinder and just started playing Society... I would like to start GM for Society but I would like to use the Sanctioned Adventure Paths Shattered Star, Rune lords, etc....

Are there rules for Progression for this?

From my experience so far and I have only been playing PFS a short time is I would like get some more in-depth Sessions going. I have met some cool people at the Sessions I have attended... I was also wondering why King Maker was not Sanctioned I think that would be an Amazing one for PFS... The only real Changes would be that the players would not be the Primary Adventure group... they would be doing things as secondary adventure groups... Heck it would even make an interesting story to have PFS players be able to say we built that tavern! or We claimed that Mine and are currently making a Deal with the King to do this that or something...

I think PFS would have a lot if Interesting Stories going around after that...

So my main Questions are what are the Adventure Path Advancement Rules and Treasure Rules?
And is there a Way to that we could Mod Kingmaker to PFS?

Yes I have a PFS number. BWAHAHAHA

For rules on the methods for running APs for PFS, see the Guide. If you're going to run the path, with the ability to make things like "house rules" you run the path as you wish as far as advancement and treasure, but the players would get chronicle sheets to apply to a PFS character with X amount of gold on it. I didn't do a very good job of summarizing that, but it's better explained in Chapter 6 of the Guide to Organized Play.

As currently, Kingmaker is not a sanctioned Adventure Path. APs were pretty recently sanctioned, so it will take a while for campaign staff to go through and choose which sections to sanction. I imagine that would be especially tough for Kingmaker, since it's very open and sandbox-like. Not everyone encounters the same situations in the same ways.

Ok,

But see that is what I think would make it awesome... You get your DMs together that run in one place and say these different things are going on... Then they run their different groups for that Sessions... It could create a slightly more interactive envirnment for the players...

Example

These are the things going for Tier 1-3

Kobold Menece
Tracking down the Evil Boar
Locating Missing Persons

Tier 4-6

bandit Menace
Fey Problems
Troll Running Rampart

Thats say Session 1 stuff

Now everyone does a Mission

They may complete the mission or Not it May take more time...

But say another group Stumbled on the The Boar and Killed it.. They brought it back...

And the group actually looking for the Boar ran into the Troll and barely escaped...

GMs get together go over Discoveries and Outcomes then everyone gets updates...

Next Session
If you are still on your mission well now you get information from fellow pathfinders

Hey Troll almost ate us we found his hunting Grounds over here...
Or The boar has been found and killed this group got the reward...
Fey activity has been spotted in this area...

Everyone can still complete missions and such or Discover things as they go along....

I just see this as a great Evolution for PFS...

by the way where be the Guide?

One of the ideas behind PFS is providing the same experience for all the players. That's one of the reasons why perhaps the most important rules for GMs is Run as Written.

Same applies to sanctioned APs, if you review the ones already available, they are based on the most "structured" parts of the individual books.

Reecy, that is a suggestion, but it is not how the APs currently work in PFS. You either run them as a home game with the perk of being able to get a chronicle sheet for a PFS character as a bonus, or you run the sanctioned bit of content as a module for PFS legal characters.

However, there is some of what you are talking about in PFS scenarios, especially for scenarios in Seasons 2+ thanks to metaplots.

Season 2 - dealt all about the rise of the Shadow Lodge, a separatist sect of the Pathfinder society.
Season 3 - all about the Ruby Phoenix Tournament, and the PFS involvement in it.
Season 4 - We go back to varisia to deal with the imminent threat of a rising runelord.
Season 5 - The Worldwound.

In each of these seasons, some scenarios specifically had different groups of pathfinders accomplish the different missions for the same end goal. You even hear in later scenarios tidbits about how others fared in the previous adventures. An early season scenario may have you investigate and recover documents, while a later scenario has a more experienced group take the documents and plant them in an embassy.

Incidentally, Reecy, that's a fantastic idea. There have been very large-scale "interactive events" at conventions like PaizoCon and GenCons of years past.

I'd love to set something like that up at a convention, sort of a small-scale interactive. It has the potential to be a very memorable weekend for the players.

I am down for Organizing Something like that Chris I just think that Now that theses PFS sessions have traction...

It is time for another Step...

From what I see there is only so many you can run and people going thru the same ones over again at a higher is cool for that. I have no intention of rocking the boat on Currently run Sessions or changing anything... I would like to start GMing, I have been doing it for years and seeing the way PFS is set up it is the perfect way to move in that direction... The Cities are more interactive the Players Enjoy seeing their Characters get Results from the Fame and Renown... Heck it gives people that write (Myself included) material for future stuff...

How cool would it be if you Started Season X and when you got Season Z one of your Encounters Takes place in a Bar one of your Characters Built or founded and he and his companions are Running it or lounging around telling War Stories...

Again I am not trying to different and I will follow any rules that are in the Guide I would just like to help Develop and Evolve the system... This is what the game was based on being a Hero becoming legendary and getting to See your hard work Pay off.

Again, that all sounds well and good for a home game. But for a worldwide campaign, I personally would rather see consistency between tables trying to play the same thing.

You will begin to encounter some of the same problems that some MMOs face. "How come your character got to get his bar written in a scenario next season, and not mine?" etc... Something like this would work small-scale like Chris mentioned, but I doubt it would be feasible in the global scale (at least anytime soon).

Not really CR

Think about it... They already have it Set up... It could all be covered by Factions....

It would be your Factions Bar... Each faction has its own goals or agenda... We could not Break it down that far to individual Player per Say that would be a Nightmare...

And most of this would be done at a general Level I am not trying to Build an MMO... But maybe make a more Interactive Season.

Sorry Sammy I write thought, then work on something then come back to it. It is a typing habit, I will keep it in check.
