Knowledge Checks - Beasts

Rules Questions

How do you know which knowledge is applicable when the PCs are trying to determine how much they know about a creature?

I recently found a file with index card sized summaries of a ton of creatures from the Beastiaries. One of the fields was relevent knowledge - for example, The Stone Golem had Arcana and the Black Pudding said Dungeoneering.

This was a convenient spot to see which knowledge check a PC must use for identifying and understanding the creatures. However, I find the creature descriptions a little more thorough on the online Pathfinder Reference Document - Except that I don't see a field for which knowledge check to use.

Am I just missing it?

Liberty's Edge

It is the description of the Knowledges skills in the CRB :

Dungeoneering (aberrations, caverns, oozes, spelunking)

Engineering (buildings, aqueducts, bridges, fortifications)

Geography (lands, terrain, climate, people)

History (wars, colonies, migrations, founding of cities)

Local (legends, personalities, inhabitants, laws, customs, traditions, humanoids)

Nature (animals, fey, monstrous humanoids, plants, seasons and cycles, weather, vermin)

Nobility (lineages, heraldry, personalities, royalty)

Planes (the Inner Planes, the Outer Planes, the Astral Plane, the Ethereal Plane, outsiders, planar magic)
