Crafting a Fireball grenade

Rules Questions

Greetings,

I am wondering about creating a fireball "grenade" using Craft Wondrous Items.

It will cost 3 (spell level) x 5 (minimum caster level) x 750 (spell trigger 50 charges) = 11.250 gp.

As it is a "grenade" it's supposed to be used once, so this is question: can I divide the market cost above by 50 (charges) so I can make the item with just 1 charge?

Thanks for reading.

You could use Necklace of Fireballs as a basis for comparison to see if that price is fair.
Edit: I'm basing this on the assumption you're the GM, and trying to come up with an appropriate price. If you're a player, then the same advice applies for proposing the item to your GM.

You're comparing a grenade to a wand. It's far more accurate to compare it to a potion (one-use item, useable by anyone). The relative costs (taking out spell level and caster level) are:
Wands: 15gp (have to buy lots, some casting experience required)
Scroll: 25gp (must be able to cast the spell or potential booms!)
Potion: 50gp (any corporeal creature can use)

Necklace of Fireballs specifically calls out the price as 150gp per caster level for each sphere (grenade). That's identical to potion cost (50gp x 3rd spell level = 150 gp, x caster level).

The "Estimating Magic Item Gold Piece Values" table has an entry for magic items like this. The single use, use-activated item (spell level x caster level x 50gp).

Thanks for the input!
