Hello, apologies on the weird thread name but I'm having issues understanding how numbers are generated when it comes to adding a character. Currently I have no # ?????-1 character, as I deleted her thinking it'd just recreate the generated number again once I went back to create it again.
Now that I have two official characters that I've played in some organized play I see that that won't be happening, is that "character" lost forever now? Is there any way of getting it reset/changed? I listed my second character as my first because I thought it'd just go back to one since technically that character doesn't exist on my page anymore.
Thanks in advance.

I don't know if it can get reversed or not. Once you delete a character that dash number is gone forever. There is usually no reason to actually delete a character though because you can change the information any time you want. Did you have any games played and recorded with the -1 character?
Ultimately it doesn't matter much how correct everything is on the site. As long as you have your chronicle sheets and everything recorded on them you are fine. If you did already play with that character and have character sheets with -1 on them just change it to -2 and recreate the character online as a -2 character.

You're not allowed to "just change" a character number on Chronicle sheets.
If there was a mistake when you recorded your character number on the tracking sheet and it was reported incorrectly, you will need to talk to the GM/event organizer (or failing that your local Venture-Captain) in order to have the mistake corrected on your Chronicle sheets and online.

Yeah, I didn't mean to just change it willy-nilly. I should have been more specific. I meant to say what you said and go over it with a GM/VC/VL and maybe have them initial it.

I think anthonydido's question is whether any games were reported with the xxxxx-1 number (instead of -2) for your second character.
In that case, yes, though it was on my -3 character (which I made a bit before this thread) I placed her as -1 because I didn't know about the character numbers being lost once deleted.
I'll also try and get in contact with my DM before I play this character again.
