Gary Gygax Published a Giant Book of Random Treasure, Do You Remember It's Title?

Gamer Life General Discussion

I'm looking for it. I know I have held it in my hands once, but can't locate it with google searches.

You would think Google would have this somewhere in its lists since Gygax invented the intertubes.

Grand Lodge

Probably because he didn't.

What he did publish was a Book of Names. Maybe you're confusing one with the other.

Or it might have been something for his post-TSR game Dangerous Journeys...the one that about 10 people bought.

A very long time ago there was the Monster and Treasure Assortment, but that doesn't sound like what you are looking for.

Ancient Tome of Sillyness

1 person marked this as a favorite.

You are likely thinking of The Mother of All Treasure Tables, published by Necromancer, not by Gygax. Understandable confusion, though.

It's an awesome book, too. Sadly Paizo doesn't carry the PDF, but I believe Drive-Thru RPG does.

Wow. I will treasure mine even more !!!

Pure Gygax it is : have some lucky dice rolls and end up a demigod at 1st level.

Summon Hurricane as a first level shaman (not even a full priest) was nice.

And the system of called and random hits made so much sense that all you really needed to protect with armor were your hands and feet.

Amazon shows 9 copies starting at about $50+.

As I posted this link the system put a space between the o and v of hardcover. It wasn't me.

That's because you didn't use the url tags.

OK.

Paizo store has a copy.

You can also get the PDF from Frog God Games:

$10.99, yo.

I thought they were talking about the Mother of All Treasure Tables. That is listed at $15.99 for the pdf.

That is not the book I am looking for.

When I find it, I'll post a link.

Doh - skimmed too fast, but, cool, they have hardcopies for sale!
