Aspect of the Beast w / Lesser Beast Totem?

Rules Questions

I know this is an over done build but I have dug through many a forums for a clarification on this. Basically a player wants to build this, not min/max, they want Pounce with greater beast totem. Starting as Ranger with Aspect of the Beast then going into Barbarian. So would the choice of Lesser Beast Totem be just as a pre-req or would they take over when raging? For example.... The damage increases when raging because the claws grow thicker and longer? That is may take on it, curious if others think this way?

I think your take on it is appropriate. They typically would have claws which do 1d4 damage but when raging they...do whatever they do...to become claws that do 1d6. No stranger than a barbarian w/ regular hands suddenly having claws when raging. :P

Are you sure he's taking the claw option from aspect? If I had a two-armed character, I'd think that was too redundant.

Your player could skip a lot of that and go for a catfolk. They can learn how to pounce without either ranger or barbarian levels, as long as they use claws only for the pounce attacks.

Note, that the above is somewhat feat intensive, but it does open up the class levels a lot.
