First a question - Some of the effects of hits or critical hits of a called shot say the target needs to make a successful Fortitude or Reflex saving thrown.
What is the DC of such saves?
But my primary question is - who is using the Called Shot rule and how is it working out for you?
I like the extra choices in combat, but I could see them slowing combat down.
Thanks,
John

Unless otherwise stated in the effect text, it's equal to the AC the attack would have hit. So, if your fighter is hit with a called shot critical hit to the heart and the effective roll (whatever the confirmation roll was -10 since the heart is a challenging target to hit) is a 32, the fighter better roll well on his Fort save or he's taking 1d4 CON bleed instead of just 1.
Called shot effects will be incorporated into confirmed critical hits by default in our next homebrew game I'm running. If I remember to, I'll update you in a few months on just how nasty it gets. ;)

Is this discussing a houserule or what?
Nope, it's a variant rule set that was released with Ultimate Combat. Though really, they're not so much a variant on the rules as supplemental effects that can easily be added into the game. Here's a link to them: Called Shots.
