Flurry of Blows on non-monks

Advice

Was wondering if it would be too much to add a flurry of blows like ability to an archetype? I like the idea of a thrown weapon user who could do something similar, but only with thrown weapons. Any thoughts?

Two weapon fighting is this.

You can two weapon fight with thrown weapons.

Exactly so. For some you may need Quickdraw as well, as not all thrown weapons are considered ammunition.

Thanks for the responses, but that doesn't really answer my question. I guess I probably didn't phrase it right. I'm basically trying to find out that if adding flurry of blows (in essence 4 feats), to a class (was thinking bard), would be too good of a thing.

Houserules?

I would make the bard give up something to get it.

Technically, as soon as you have a single level of monk, you have all four of those feats. The number of hits from flurry of blows is based upon BAB for non monk levels. This is fair because of the steep price of going armorless. So just grab 19 levels of fighter and your full attacks would never notice the difference compared to a straight 1-20 monk. For a mostly bard build...hmmm... the attack bonus for flurry of blows would work out to about the same as if you had just taken the feats with your 3/4 bab.

Of course, outside of shuriken, most monks cannot do a proper throwing build through only a dip. There is a work around if you use the Monk of the Empty hand. They can use improvised weapons in their flurry of blows. Also, all weapons are treated as improvised weapons to them. Assuming you could still use their enhancement bonus (talk to your GM. Everyone is a bit fuzzy on this due to the weird circumstances), you could make a thrown weapon build once you get the throw anything feat and quick draw. Improvised weapon mastery at BAB +8 would make those weapons more powerful. An interesting aspect of this build would be the fact that you could throw around greatswords as far as the rules are concerned. Not a great idea, no, but it seems awesome at least.

You need to give it to rogues. Trade trap sense and advance rogue talents, so you can still take knife master. Flurry of kukris and pray to the gods he isn't flanking!

I support this. The ninja has their trick regarding tossing some extra shurikens. I have a soft side for throwers

That depends what abilities you swapped out for it and how it effected their weapon selection. Exchange FoB with monk weapons for spell-casting? Sure. Exchange it for bardic performance (all of them)? Sure.
