No, the end result will be that you have clothing that provides a +2 armor bonus, and armor that provides a +8 armor bonus. Since two armor bonuses don't stack, you'll only use the greater one.
You can, however, cast magic vestment on a shield (such as a buckler), and that will stack with your chainmail.

Incorrect. Magic vestment does not provide an armor bonus, it provides an enhancement bonus to your armor bonus. It won't stack with the +2 from chainmail, but RAW, it should overlap with it. if your magic vestment on your clothes is greater than +2, it will stack with the regular armor bonus of the chainmail. Although that's pointless and you might as well cast it on the chainmail directly. I prefer magic vestment on the clothes underneath for those occasions where you don't have your armor on.

MyTThor: It's not an enhancement bonus to your AC. The enhancement bonus is to the armor's armor bonus (or to the shield's shield bonus), just like a magic armor's enhancement bonus.
If you have a +2 chainmail, then you have an item with a +8 armor bonus to AC, not an item with a +2 enhancement bonus to AC and a +6 armor bonus to AC.
Which is pretty important, because otherwise if you had a +2 armor and a +2 shield, you could only benefit from one of the +2's :)
