Calling you. Makes things easier.

Shadow Lodge

My phone is missing... Sorry...

CRAP.
Now i can't explain anything.

Shadow Lodge

... Why not?

Words fail with text.

Shadow Lodge

I actually am better using text.

Alright.
This campaign is made to press your comfort zone. To wind up with a possibly non-optimized stat pc, even when others may be. To keep up despite odds. To intragate a fact of reality- that overall, some people we born better then others.

The campaign is designed to be an "unlikely hero" story.

Shadow Lodge

Except in reality people are able to play to their known ingrained strengths, a super smanr shrimp who always wanted to be a wrestler finds out pretty soon to change his mind.

Heh- it doesn't require you to keep training in that.
Honestly, if the class is completely impossible
(Ie) wizard with int 9 or less, i will allow one re-roll, because I'm not a dick.

Or you could roll your stats after the class, and have it so you were trained to be ___ but you sucked at it, and you are looking to be something else. 1 level of that class, and then begin multiclassing.

We are also talking people here. There is nothing more stubborn on the face of the planet.

Shadow Lodge

How about the gesault but slow advancement start at lvl one, mainly because I really wan to see what it looks like when someone is both arcane trickster and archer,
But that's not the big deal
I really like the versatility offered by gesault,
I have never been allowed to play one in a campign with actual advancement.

Yes, but then i don't get the campaign working the way i hope... Characters will be too powerful...
This campaign has a world planned out. Everything.
So the choice really is-
Unlikely heroes
Or gesalt heroes.

Shadow Lodge

But with an arcane/arcane gesault I wouldn't do much more that a normal wizard except that I would have more spells per day.
But I see where you are coming from.

Not you in preticular.
And, yes, you would. Spell casting is always separate- in other words, you have 2x the spellcastig.

Shadow Lodge

That's what I mean more spells per day, it just means that I would run out much less often.

Just trust me.
It's one or the other.
I have my preference, but...
It's about what players will like, i suppose. Not just you.

Shadow Lodge

Well you know what my preferences are,
I am sorry on some level that they are not the same as yours, but I almost always fill the caster roll, wich is something I enjoy. I like the mysticism, the sheer difference from our day to day life, in such a way that it is a wold without Internet that I might prefer to one with. Heck in a divine campign the thing I would enjoy the most would be the politics of people of that power scale. But they require a prime requisite that is up to par
Fighters, monks, rouges, rangers, paladins, they can make do with any stat combo under the sun.
Casters can't.

I am well aware, this is a low magic campaign- casting shouldn't be common. If you want to try and be a caster, you'll have to live with these things. Honestly, I was hoping you of all pepole would be anything but a caster.
This is, as i said, meant to push you from your comfort zone. To play something diffrent.

You know...
This might not be worth it.
Maybe... We should just forget it.

Shadow Lodge

I can't get inside the head of a fighter when presented with magic.
I mean for what reason would you not at least dabble, being able to cast true strike for example, or knock, or spark, or stableize or any number of low level spells would make life so much easier.

Why did i think is was a god idea?
I don't even know....

Shadow Lodge

... Sorry, it will probably be better when we are both fully awake,
Preferably in person.

"Oath to order"

"Vs demon lord ninetails (oakami soundtrack)"

"You'll need many partners... Make as many friends as you can... Because when the time comes, you'll need some help... "holding the moon up"."

Shadow Lodge

Yeeeah you really need sleep...

I want to play a campaign.... Not run one...
But apparently I'm good at running them, and i can never find a game to suit me, at least, one still active/recruiting.

Shadow Lodge

I could run one (don't hold me to this I am about to go to bed)

That is what I based the game i have in mind on...
Fighting something the gods can barely keep at bay...
Something...
Powerful. Beyond gods.
"Holding the moon up"
Is a reference to majora's mask- it took the power of 4 near-gods to slow the decent of doomsday to the point that you could stop it... After the god of time let you try endless times.
A reference to hope in a hopeless situation.
The campaign in mind...

The "oath to order" summoned the 4 giants... And they held the moon... Under all the force majora's mask could muster. Against all odds...

He with profane power will rise...
The gods can barely hold him...
Rovagug couldn't hope to stop him....

The ultimate demon will rise...
And no one... Will suspect a thing.

I think I'm going insane....
But it's a good insane...
I can see the entire world forming in my mind...
And honestly...
I love it....
So dark...
So bleak..
So...
Hopeless...

.... Good night.

Shadow Lodge

Ok now that sounds cool,
But link had a number of artifacts and infinate lives and do overs
I don't want multiple lives, if i die I should stay dead, begin rolling up a new character

Ok.... That was a metaphor...
A base.

I'll pray for you...

I might go to an archetype of barbarian that gives massive grapple bonuses. Avalon level strength means I can do most anything in a grapple.

Why does this entire post seem more kinky than tactical...

Liberty's Edge

One can never be too sure, tee hee. Grapple check 1d20 + 7 ⇒ (11) + 7 = 18

I think this will go a lot smoother if we do stat roles as the commoners. Then we grow into a class that fits our skill sets that way and it's also more realistic. You know when you're strong or smart IRL. The characters themselves might not agree with the stats and try for non-oped classes IC. This adds to the realism of it as well.

Str4d6 ⇒ (1, 6, 2, 1) = 10 9
Con4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 5, 2) = 13 12
Dex4d6 ⇒ (5, 1, 4, 1) = 11 10
Wis4d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3, 1) = 13 12
Int4d6 ⇒ (2, 5, 5, 4) = 16 14
Cha4d6 ⇒ (3, 5, 2, 1) = 11 10
And with these stats I can tell he would be a good . . . . Wizard. . . . . Maybe a bender.

Note- 3d6, not 4d6.

Tybalt, you are going back to exactly wha to had in mind.

But I still don't know why i thought this was a good idea.

Shadow Lodge

4d6 ⇒ (3, 1, 4, 5) = 13 12
4d6 ⇒ (2, 2, 4, 6) = 14 13
4d6 ⇒ (2, 1, 6, 3) = 12 11
4d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 6, 4) = 20 17
4d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 5, 6) = 18 16

I would make a good wizard, cleric or oracle so long I put a +2 in that stat, I could be a good magus, bender monk or bard without that
I'd also make a good paladin or ranger
For NPC this would be good stats for anybody.

3d6, pepole.
AGAIN
I'm probobly not doing this anyway.

Shadow Lodge

Ok if it is 3d6 I want to use my dice,
It's a luck thing

No.everyoen rolls here IF I EVEN DO THIS.

Shadow Lodge

Str3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 1) = 8
Dex3d6 ⇒ (6, 3, 3) = 12
Con3d6 ⇒ (2, 3, 3) = 8
Int3d6 ⇒ (4, 6, 5) = 15
Wis3d6 ⇒ (4, 5, 3) = 12
Cha 3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6
Replacement:3d6 ⇒ (5, 2, 6) = 13 hmm either Cha or str
Ok I really do find this to be an interesting concept, the plot looks good but I like the gestalt version better.
What do you think Jeff

Sorry I thought it was four d six drop high, like we always do.
Str3d6 ⇒ (5, 5, 5) = 15
Con3d6 ⇒ (4, 3, 6) = 13
Dex3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 5) = 10
Wis3d6 ⇒ (3, 2, 2) = 7
Int3d6 ⇒ (1, 1, 4) = 6
Cha3d6 ⇒ (2, 6, 1) = 9
This would get to be a decent fighter or barbarian dependant on personality.
This sounds like a cool game and it would be nice to play with new people outside of our usual group.

....
You act like I'm going to do this...
You really know how to force me into something...

I thought you wanted to do this? I don't want to force you into it but it sounds really fun? If it is just second thought and you still do I will totally support this. If you really don't want to do this any more that is fine too. :)

...
It seems like a big commitment, and I'm touching controversial ideas....
I don't really know...

Shadow Lodge

The campaign itself looks awesome, but I prefer any in person game town online game and you are already running one of those,
If you want to try this I am all for it, so long as it doesn't get in the way of the in person one, we don't have to keep going if you don't want to
Don't feel forced into this. You as the DM are the deciding vote on pretty much everything,

It's OK. You're a visionary. This is a new idea and can be very awesome if done right. If it doesn't work out then there's nothing lost and if it does we get a cool new campaign. And you already have two players. :)
More people show up? Great. New perspective. No one else does? Awesome too. Easier that way.
I believe that you can handle it. :)
