Here is the inspiration
This is going to be for a Way of the Wicked campaign, with a 25 point buy. I will get to come in at level 5. 10,500 gp for wealth. But yep, must be LE or NE. No firearms, and I'd suggest staying away from eastern. And only core races. Other than that...have fun.
Looks like a Ranger 5 (Infiltrator Archetype) with Favored Enemy: Leopards.
Petty Alchemy: I like your concept, but remember, I'm making him to actually be played and be useful. :P
Ranger (Trophy Hunter) Cavalier (Beast Rider)?
Thanks, Rashagar. Neither one seems to be able to wear the armor, though. Sadly, I am not a huge fan of the riding part of things.
I know you said no guns but just a single level of trophy hunter for favoured enemy animals and improved tracking looks like it'd make any other combination of armoured classes fit the pic to me.
The easiest solution is to just go fighter and pick up Weapon Specialization: Greatsword. A bit dull though.
For armor proficencies, Cavalier is your next best bet. Sadly, you don't seem to want a mount, and the only Cav archetypes that trade it away are the Musketeer (who trades it for a gun) and Sword Saint Samurai (who is decidedly eastern).
Ranger might be a good bet too. I'd buy that as medium hide armor.
That's an awful lot of plate and a great helm - that's a breastplate set of armor at a guesstimate, with a really odd looking bastard sword.
I'd go with antipaladin of the Great Horned Evil Gawd thing.
I think that I might be able to get away with the Samurai, if he went that route. Now, we certainly can multi-class to get where we want to be. I wonder, would a combo of fighter/barbarian be possible fit? And if so, would it make sense?
Alot of anti-pallys already trying to get in the group, so would like to try something different.
Fighter/Barbarian makes total sense. Fighter for the heavy armor and noble demeanor (he was born a noble and learned swordplay from the knights) and barbarian for his love of the wild places (he grew sour on the politics of the court and left home to ply his violent trade).
I can definitely picture him as the type to go on safaris and bring back trophies, even if he'd rather earn the satisfaction of taking the beast's head with his own sword. Perhaps the coat of arms of his family pictured lions, so he decided to hunt actual lions?
A barbar would work. that stuff could pass as breastplate with gauntlets and greaves. Make the leopard your totem animal or something.
Also, re-skinning the sword-saint as a north-african warrior could be interesting. A saracen Hashishin might fit.
Silent Saturn & Murgunstrumm, I like these both very well. I'm gonna try for the fighter/barbarian route, though. Out of curiosity, what archetypes do you think should be done? And how would you structure the build?
Pick a good deity with longsword, great sword, or bastard sword as favored weapon. Be a CG Infiltrator Inquisitor disguised as part of the evil plot while subtly derailing it from within while struggling with your own conscience.
chaoseffect, this game is an evil one. There is no going the good route in it.
I understand that it's an evil game, but I still had to suggest Infiltrator as this would probably be the only time the archetype would ever be useful and it could still easily fit in depending on the DM style. I thought playing a mole would be pretty cool ;p
;P Let me say it this way. Good characters are not gonna be an option, as there isn't a place in the game to overthrow things. So yep, if I want to do well in this game, I'm staying away from that idea.
In that case I second flamboyantly dressed Antipaladin, unless the entire game is going to be Evil versus Evil in which case Smite Good is a sad panda.
Alot of anti-pallys vie-ing for the position. I'd like a good chance at getting in, so anti-pally is right out.
