Character generation question

Rules Questions

I am coming back to role-playing after a long hiatus. I eventually want to GM but for now I have a question about character creation.

When creating a new character do you take your favored class bonus at first level if you declare that class as favored or do you have to wait until second?

For example, a human fighter gets 3 skill ranks at one (two for level 1 and one for being human), does he get one more if he declares fighter as his favored class at level 1?

You get the extra skill point or hit point at every level, including level 1. At least that's how we always play it. It's certainly not earth-shattering to get it at level 1, so why take people's toys away from them?

Thanks, that's how I feel.
