PDF glitches on Nook tablet

Shadow Lodge

I have just redownloaded my copies of mystery monsters revisited and my nook is having trouble rendering a lot of the pages with some only showing the backgrounds of the pages or only showing bits & pieces when I zoom in on the page. This also seems to be happening with some of the other paperbacks as well but not the lite hardbacks or print friendly pdfs from legendary games. Any idea why it's doing this?

I've seen that before depending on the PDF reader I was using. Which are you using?

I don't have any thoughts offhand. Any other Nook users able to chime in here?

I will note that on most platforms, Adobe Reader generally provides the fewest compatibility issues—pretty much every other PDF viewer I've ever worked with, on any platform, renders *something* differently from Reader (where differently is almost always equal to incorrectly). So my first suggestion would be to try Adobe Reader.

K I'll give that a go. Does the adobe reader program work in the nook tablet or does it require me to use only the programs the system came loaded with? As for what I'm running on it's the nook hd+.

With the latest update, you should have Google Play available. Open that and you will find the actual Adobe Reader app for android.

I have the Nook HD+ as well.

The problem here is really the Nook. It's processor and graphics memory are not designed for the 'large' multi-layered PDF files of the Core Rulebook, GM Guide, etc... Even with the Adobe Reader app, it only renders about five pages at a time.

It's primary design goal is for streaming video and reading epub files. Layer-intensive PDFs tax its CPU to the limit.

I love my Nook, but have an iPad on my Gaming Table wish list for this exact reason.

Yeah that sucks since this is kind of exactly what I picked up the HD+ for and have been trying really hard to avoid picking up an iPad. That being said I just figured out that you could download adobe through the google play option like yesterday morning and now that I've got all that registration for google play stuff out of the way should give it a try later today. Also I don't really mind 5 pages at a time I just like having those pages up quickly so I can reference and read em ya know?
