The Lifesurging enhancement on the weapon works awesomely with the Sipping Demon ability. Every time I hit an opponent, I gain 6 temp hp...which also works pretty good with Vicious.

He'll, of course, be riding an adult dragon fast zombie.

He'll probably kinda suck the first few levels. But after that, he looks like he'll be fun to play.

What do you think?

Not necessarily a shameless bump:

I'm thinking about looking for a better trait than anatomist. Magical Knack is pretty much only for animating the dead, via scrolls. Not sure if it's worth it.

The Crane Style feats...I'm not sure how much it adds to the build, as a whole. May get rid of those, but not sure what to add in.

This guy will have great AC already (quite a bit more than 50 at max level), and with Dimensional Dervish, will usually stay out of close range of enemies. I would love to get Agile Maneuvers much earlier, but what other feats should I throw in?

While he is a priest to an evil Devil, he'll still be Lawful Neutral (which is acceptable to rules). Sure, he animates the dead, and maybe casts Infernal Healing on rare occasion, but he shouldn't have too much problem being in a party with a Paladin (though, they're be an uneasy tension, at best). Be best, though, just to not be in a party with a paladin, though ;)

So...no thoughts? A Hungry Ghost Monk that threatens a crit about 1/3 of the time?

Thought about taking Agile Maneuvers to level 7; picking up Stunning Fist, but it'd have to be level 19, I think. So, two more feat slots: levels 9 and 11.

Why Hungry Ghost Monk specifically?

Well, anytime I drop an enemy or confirm a crit, I'd gain 1 Ki point and heal 19 hp, at level 20. Anytime I hit an enemy, I get 6 stacking temporary hp (but lose 1d6 due to the Vicious enhancement). So between all my temp hp, and threatening crits about twice a turn, it'd be hard to carve my hp slowly down. I spend one ki point to teleport all over the field, attacking (doing around 25 damage each hit), then teleporting to safety (I can 'port around 200 ft, mixing 7 attacks in as I go). During the attack, I'd probably regain the ki point I spent. Even then, at max level, I'm looking at a ki pool of 35 points. My weapon counts as Adamantine, Silver, Cold Iron, and Lawful.

I dunno. That was a rambly explanation as to why Hungry Ghost Monk. But mostly, I've always liked them, it's just that crits are hard to come by using monk weapons. So I found a lawful deity who's favored weapon was a scimitar, went from there.

Well, Sarenrae is also an option, if you go Lawful Good.

Also, there is the option of an Agile Rapier, and the God Quindiovatos.

It will take you a bit longer to get dex to damage, but will save you a feat.

Yeah, Sarenrae is what I was thinking in groups that would frown on an evil god...or a DM that frowns on Animating the dead.

And good catch with Quindiovatos. Just considered it, but this guy already won't be awesome at low levels, don't wanna take any more power away from him then. And even then, I'm taking out the Crane feats, don't really need any more feat slots.

Great stuff, very nice combo of the crusader and monk. I am thinking of building one for Skulls & Shackles, but the Dervish Dance is from a book we don't use atour table. Did you give any thought to a strength based version?

On the other hand I am even tempted to flurry with a crossbow with Adabar as deity and the rapid reload feat. That would mean stealing ki at 80 ft. Just for rp, because crossbows have such low damage.
