Hello all, I happen to have a friend in one of the campaigns I'm in using a Drow Rogue (Level 9) and hes not necessarily sure which route to go down. I am utilizing a summoner currently in case you're wondering.
Currently he's the Scout archetype, and he doesn't know which weapons he should obtain. Originally he was using dueling swords, and rapiers, but now we are all given the opportunity to remake and refit ourselves and the DM is pretty nice about what type of weapons and such we can obtain but is very strict about magical items.
He said he wanted to look to optimize his damage output a bit better than before but I'm not adept at playing rogues so I had no information for him. If anyone had any advice I'd be most appreciative. ^-^

With a scout I'd take the biggest nastiest weapon I had prof with. I designed a fun Half-orc scout with a falchion. Go ahead and burn a talent to get Elven Curve Blade* (one talent gives you a Feat), and another for Wpn Finesse.
Resiliency, Bleeding attack. There's that all four talents.
I'd take Spring attack (requires Dodge, Mobility). Charge then get out. Wind stance too, later. Toughness is a MUST!
Drow would not be my first pick with Scout.
* this could lead to a couple of cool backstories as to why a drow uses a elven weapon. Maybe he's a renegade raised by elves? Maybe he hates elves and took it off a dead body?
Get a trait that gives +1 to Fort saves. He'll need it.

Well, for the more optimized minded of everyone here, what is your friend's statline and what kind of combat has there been in the game so far?
Edit: And is this a complete character remake or a character fix up? Noble Drow or normal?
Normal Drow and our DM called it a "Soft" character remake. Letting us rechoose feats, reallocate skill points, etc. For him I'm assuming he's alloing him to choose different rogue tricks as well.
we rolled stats, and I believe his stats are
20 STR
21 DEX
14 CON
14 Int
11 WIS
10 CHA
DM isn't allowing us to change our ability scores so that's his stats foreva. He has Ki pool as one of his tricks along with vanishing trick. The weapon he's been using was a Aldori dueling sword with the heirloom trait. Anddd, i don't know much else about the character currently lol. He's coming over later so I can ask him more in-depth afterward.
Combat has usually varied. We've gotten 1v1 competitions in tournaments, fighting ogres/giants (Which he did awesome), fighting mobs of kobolds, or large rats, etc.
EDIT: DrDeth actually he's been working on this character for an extremely long time, and has literally pages of backstory for this guy lol. I've never read them all but when he gave it to our DM our DM replied with, "Looks like I got something to read at work, hot damn."
