optimizing a switch-hitter? wha??

Advice

Having read the new Mouse Guard comic from Free Comic Book day, I am inspired to try to create an optimized switch-hitter. Yeah, and without using the advanced template, even.

Yeah, I know, building characters out of comic books usually ends in tears, but you know, someone at Paizo is fond of Captain America, yeah?

Please help with this, it's very very rough...

Race: warslinger halfling
class: ranger
weapon: sling staff
nature bond: animal companion

(so, now we're in homebrew territory already, because that furshlugginer alternate racial ability only applies to slings, grr, arf arf)

skills (cribbed from the comic)
Climb
Acrobatics (need trait for this, only one I know is, what, Captain's Blade??)
Ride
Survival
Swim

as well as
Craft: Weaponsmithing
Profession: Cook

So, here we go.

To maintain the mousey feel, I'm going with a halfling. This opens up the possibility of getting hoopak proficiency for free, and saving on Quick Draw. The sling staff is the only non-thrown weapon that saves you from needing two enchanted weapons. Also, this gives a use for the Ride skill, because you can ride around on a wolf indoors. The downside is the Strength penalty is nasty, because you want that for good damage and Power Attack.

No question, but MAD will be an issue. Maybe the advanced template would be good after all...

Feats
1st Weapon Focus (sling staff)
2nd (bonus) Rapid Shot
3rd Power Attack
5th Mounted Combat
6th (bonus) Improved Precise Shot
7th Mounted Archery
9th Trick Riding
10th (bonus) ???
11th Craft Magic Arms and Armor??

Hrm...I'm only playing with 9 feats here...what if I forced it so that I didn't spend more than 3 feats on any one thing: melee, riding, archery...eughh.

What I really care about with feats are those that work with more than one style. So far that's definitely

Weapon Focus (sling staff)
Mounted Archery
probably Craft Magic Arms and Armor

Anyway, now I'm out of good ideas. How would you build the ultimate sword/bow/smith/cook?
