Silver Crusade

Switched to elf. Flippy kicky woodsy hoodsy assassin is fun.

Narrator has a pleasant voice but hot damn he would be an infuriating GM. Railroads like Amtrak!

Also, Golden Axe fans are in for a real treat. (them dragonraptors)

I mention the rabbit boss a while ago.

I like the Sabre tooth cat mount much more then the raptor dragon mount.

Silver Crusade

Tiger is much easier to actually use in combat it seems. Raptor seems to get shy about actually attacking sometimes.

Damn sorceress NPCs running ahead of me doing necromancy before I can grab the bones!

Non-story gameplay spoiler:
I feel vindicated having finally seen Rannie set off a trapped chest. I kept waiting for it to happen and began to doubt. Then finally all the "Oh yes!" and "Oh my!"'s were interrupted by "Oh crap..." :D

If I hear "FILTHY LUCRE!" one more time...

I'm not liking the dwarf much.

Video proof of the Rabbit's evil
Zip to the 7:15 mark.

So far I have only played as the sorceress but having to much fun to try another class. I wish the elf was more a fighter/mage like in towers of doom instead of the archery stuff. I wish the beast master elf was playable, you know from the art you get on the second quest.

I think the Elf does have "some" spells, and if yes they are likely the item supplement type.
And I think a beast master character would be over powered, the mounts are powerful.
I currently have an Amazon, and plan on trying a new character after I finish the story so I have a small collection of characters I can use.

Yes the elf has some magic but that it isn't enough for a fighter/mage. She is an archer with a tiny bit of magic, kick attacks, and some dagger skills.

Finally got it :)
Starting playing just now ^_^

Edit: forgot, my artbook is in mint condition.

Hope you enjoy it well,
What are you going as?

--------------------------

and I would not mind gaming with some of you guys when you have progressed enough.

Am still trying to decide, but am tempted by the elf.

I reached lvl 7 with the elf, very nice all round char, but mostly i repeated the first area killing the harpy for fast xp and loot.
Did the first quest of the adventurer guild and the sceptre one for the princess....now should do the border fortress overcome by orcs for the evil duke guy.

What bugs me: equip degradation, at the magic shop you cannot choose what to sell and sell all items in your armory instead, can't pause the game (hate it), your followers don't level with you (less annoying, since you keep finding bones of higher level char).

The only thing I don't like is that you can't pause the game. I find it strange that they would not use something so standard(and useful) in games.

The pause feature would likely of interfered a lot with the online play part, hence why it was not included.

And you can sell choose what is specifically sold in the magic shop.

I haven't try, i just read "sell all items in your armory" on the "sell items" voice.

Is it possible to leave in the armory only what you want to sell? I haven't look very much in inventory management.

Yep, I sold all my old equipment in Morgan's Shop without selling the good stuff I could not use yet.

And i still can't find how to move items between equip and armory.
Am finding a bit too easy how you can go back and forth from early dungeons and clean the area each time. Am elf level 11 and all of my companions are 12.....this means i keep cleaning the areas with the wyvern and that with the doom beetle in few minutes, gaining every time exp and loot, and can do so until i'm high enough level that new dungeons aren't that hard.

Ok i'm an idiot: you don't need to move items between invent pages, just choosing to sell items lets you choose what to sell and what to keep.
But the game says "sell ALL items owned in your Armory" , so i misunderstood.

I am now convinced, given the strong amounts of love/hate that have resulted, that George Kamitani is the vidgame analogue of Wayne Reynolds, and would inflict grievous bodily harm on someone to get the Pathfinder Iconics rendered in the Dragon's Crown/Vanillaware style.

Hell, if I could afford it, I'd shell out the money to pay for the creation of Pathfinder Iconics DLC.

Man, I hated that golem boss and the hellhound quest, but the picture was sooooo cute.

Did the hell hound quest, freaking hard but funny.

What are you all finding in terms of corpses to resurrect?
I'm elf 17 and am finding only amazons, sorceress and wizards....one dwarf here and there, elves too but fighters.
Pity i only want heavily armored tank plate in front of my elf ; are those NPCs randomly generated by the game or taken by those player-generated ones on the servers?

The Golem Boss is easy if you have a golem of your own.

If you want challenging bosses then the Red Dragon, The Reaper one(only because he is invulnerable until you find out his weakness), and the Gargoyle Door Boss.

I found the Hellhound quest to be easy. The only quest I think will be hard will be some of the solo boss fights.

If your playing offline then they are randomly generated. I am not sure about online play though.

Well, the golem boss wasn't hard, I just hated the amount of crap that was thrown at me in that room. I get a pretty good mix of classes with the corpses, just very few fighters (maybe 2 or 3 as long as I've played).

Not sure if i'm playing on or off line, i haven't check the options so i'm with default settings. I too got very few fighters, maybe because the assumption is everyone uses the figther sooner or later.

you have to complete the lost words before you get to go online.

Silver Crusade

Well, after the pirate fight it's clear Vanillaware has overcome the slowdown issues they had in Odin Sphere.*

(finally figured out what they meant by "Crouching Shot" in the Elf's skills. Go figure it's when you're shooting UPwards)

*Odin Sphere players know exactly which fight referred to there

If this is a joke, i didn't like it. Once you reach the Lost Woods you have to pay 540 for the horses everytime you leave town?????

edit: tell you why; the quest for the doll in the mage tower costed me more gold than it gave me. I had to quit the quest three times before doing it right, and everytime had to buy a horse to leave town.

And i'm online finally, elf 19

Geez, I'm slacking. I haven't done anything since the golem fight.

The cost of the stables I think is base on your level.
It's to keep your cash in check, but now you can do stage after stage and rack up the coin (I even got some "S" ranked gear after a few stage run).

Girl came to thr con I just returned from dressed as the sorceress. Will post link later.

The cost for the stables is based on your level.

I am currently a level 41 sorceress and I have beaten the game the first go around. You have to collect those 9 stones and beat the ancient dragon 3 times to revive each of the three goddesses.

It is not as hard to gain money once you can go through multiple dungeons in a row.

Or get high ranked kick-*** gear when you go through multiple dungeons in a row.

Give me time, i'm just only 19 elf for now.

edit: and just began the quest for the nine talismans

Silver Crusade

I "finished" normal mode with my fighter .... hard mode is harder especially at level 38 ^^. The fighter is fun, however the amazon is amazing too, I think the character has quite a high skill ceiling, and I think the comparison with a fighting game character is entirely accurate.

Regarding the "fanservice" I have come to the conclusion, that the amazon and the sorceress really aren't the worst offenders, especially since you really won't have the time to stare at them while playing.
While the game rides a fine line between homage and caricature, I think it's worth mentioning, that we don't have stupid fantasy armor with boob windows....

Yeah, I think the worst offenders might be the pictures you unlock by questing (even though a surprising number of them were actually drawn by female artists).

So what do you think? As I understand it, the artist wanted to "crank it up to 20" so everything looks kind of overstated. I heard that, he used early depictions of fertility goddesses as a base for the necromancer (the sorcerers giving life through her gravity defying breasts), and the amazon looks like a mix between a gender bend Conan the barbarian and Red Sonja with enough muscles to do all the crazy things she does ..

I have not played for a week now, and must be getting far behind everyone else in terms of level.

I'm pretty sure I'm the most behind, especially since I found a couple games last week that I had been looking for (Whee! Brand new copy of Yakuza:Dead Souls). I've been distracted -_-

Sorceress Lv50
Elf Lv35
Amazon Lv20

I'm slacking too. Only 26 elf.

Is t possible to repair equip of allies?

I cannot find the black skeletons for Best of the Dead quest, and haven't found a solution online either for it. Which dungeon are they in?

The Black Skeletons can be found in the vampire path and the pirate path.

The Owlbears can be found in the medusa path and the very beginning of the mage tower.

Gladiators can be found in the killer Rabbit path and the Golem path.

This explains why i couldn't find them. The quest says "Roland challenges you to blahblahblah" and since he is in the medusa dungeon i kept looking there :(

Just put this back in after...a while. New patch! You no longer have to point and click for those background treasures, now you just point :) It's nice that Atlus provides a changelog for their patches. I wonder if a pause function will ever come about.

This week i've been back on Mass Effect 3 (still needed to play the Citadel DLC).

lol I've been playing the God of War Origins Collection :P

God of War 3 has been waiting on my shelves for an eternity,i could as well give up hope to play it anytime soon.

GoW 3 is just one of a few games I have yet to play.

Finally unlocked online a couple days ago, but man am I poor. 30 resurrections eat at one's finances.

I just beat the normal setting for all six characters and the hard setting with a sorceress....and no that isn't a joke.

Wow, you're more efficient than I. I've got 3 talismans and a handful of quests to do. However, I discovered playing with others isn't conducive to questing, but they sure help against the bosses. *shakes fist at Killer Rabbit*
