Additional rage rounds per day without rage?

Can I use my favourite class bonus to get additional rage rounds if I am a barbarian but haven't got the rage class feature yet?

The mad dog archetype barbarian archetype get rage later but the dwarf/half orc barbarian favoured class option does not require rage.

So can a half orc mad dog get additional rage rounds as favoured class bonus before level 4?

Off the cuff I would say no for the same reasons that you cant train in the fly skill before you can fly. In this case im basing myself off of the Extra rage feat wixh states additionnal rounds per day. But since i dont have your race feature in front of me i cant say for sure

Extra Rage

You can use your rage ability more than normal.
Prerequisite: Rage class feature.
Benefit: You can rage for 6 additional rounds per day.
Special: You can gain Extra Rage multiple times. Its effects stack.

Prerequisite: rage

Half orcs favoured class Option:
Barbarian Add +1 to the barbarian's total number of rage rounds per day

Prerequisite: Barbarian but no rage

Yes, you can. You wouldn't be able to rage, but you could start building up your extra rounds of it.

Same deal as human barbarians' favored class option and the superstitious rage power.

Same as a favored class option that grants 1/6 of a rogue talent or alchemist discovery, etc...

You can add your favoured class bonus to a class feature before you're able to use it. This wouldn't give you the ability to rage, but you'd get the extra rounds at level 4.
