Pass that Magic Item.

Rules Questions

Ok, here is an interesting thought. Does a ring of Freedom of Movement prevent you from needing to save vs Paralysis? or do you auto succeed? This is important for creatures that have a "IF you succeed on the save you can't be effected for 24 hours" like power.

If it allows you to auto succeed, you could take the ring off and run over and put it on a friend...right?

Here is the where it gets tricky but there is situations exceptions.

One if you had to make a Poison save that paralyzed and failed...

Yes you auto Succeed but the ring could be negating the poison until it wears off if you failed.

And then Area of Effect stuff that was constant.

Freedom of Movement wrote:
This spell enables you or a creature you touch to move and attack normally for the duration of the spell, even under the influence of magic that usually impedes movement, such as paralysis, solid fog, slow, and web.

There's nothing in there about not having to make a save, and the bolded wording (emphasis mine) indicates to me that you can still fail such a save... for all the harm it'll do you with the ring on*.

* It could do harm. I can't think of a case off-hand, but it's entirely feasible for a spell to have an effect of paralysis as well as something non-movement-related.

ahhh I like that. That is how I will run it. Saves all around, but the guy with the ring may not care what the outcome is.
