I took part in the playtest, guys. It's brilliant, and balanced.

So did I and it's pretty sweet.

Oh! Right, and I almost forgot:

"SHO NUFF!"

Thanks for the kind words!

What do you guys think about the Unarmored Defense feat? I've said in regards to the playtesting that I think it's balanced because it provides benefits similar to a chain shirt or mage armor. However, the concern was raised that it would be too popular because it's a solid increase in defenses for less armored, low-level characters. Do you think there's too much incentive to take the feat? Would this feat significantly change the look and feel of your typical Pathfinder game?

There's something wrong with the product's sale page on RPGNow. It keeps saying that there are no valid purchase options for the product.

Ok, that was nuts. I had it set to go live on RPGNow tomorrow, but for some reason future releases are temporarily disabled. So it listed, but without an active file. It is now also listed on RPGNow. Let me know if that corrected the problem for you.

I just played on Saturday with Unarmored Defense, I thought it would be too good until I realized my AC was 21 unarmored and my buddies AC was 27 with armor. So not that game changing. Overall, it's a good feat investment.

Sales have been pretty brisk. I keep hoping that some reviews will pop here and at DriveThru/RPGnow.

It is stronger than a lot of other feats. (Dodge and Improved Natural Armor being the most directly comparable) Even so, feats are the games most precious resources. You have to be choosy precisely because of how limited and irreversible those choices are. It saves you the 15-100 GP other characters spend to get the same benefit. Yes, it avoids spell failure and ACP, yes it is a strong feat. But it is a pretty huge cost for four points of AC that will not stack with the common methods.

Also, love the book. Totally plan on a review when I get the time.

Thank you. When I wrote the Martial Artist for Fistful of Denarii, I wanted to be sure to leave enough room for the Monk to be a Monk. I came around to the idea of doing this book based, really, on just seeing all the problems people had getting the Monk to work. You could get there, but it was just a pain, and the final version seemed to always suffer in comparison to other characters with similar abilities. While the Pathfinder Fighter basically got the upgrades offered in late 3.5 materials, the Monk didn't really get the same level of love, even with the ki pool. So, here we are. I think things worked out pretty well.

I'm thinking of rewriting Perfect Strike as a feat and putting it in. I had gotten frustrated with trying to fix it and left it out before, but I've got a handle on it now. Does anyone have a feeling about that?

I like the d10 as a HD as opposed to the D8. I like a lot of things about this class. I have the Talented Monk and the Monk Reborn, and they're both excellent. The problem is not with either class; It's simply the fact that I tend towards armoured warriors ( Fighters, Knights, Hunters, and at least one Anti-Paladin . . . ), but if was into martial arts characters, I'd definately be playing this one!

Perfect Strike is (a) already a feat; and (b) is expanded upon in at least one archetype.

Sorry, I meant to say rewriting the archetype ability for Perfect Strike as a feat. The latest version of the file includes this update.
