I'd say limited spell slots.

Yeah I would guess that might be a reason not to rain arcane destruction on every problem....though not as fun.

Ever played in the Midnight Campaign Setting?

You are talking about the one created by Fantasy Flight Games correct?

If so...I never got to play(or run it) but I do own the books and liked it very much. One day perhaps I'll get to use it.

For me the answer is usually "Collateral Damage".

That is the story og my life...I have tote boxes of RPG material I would love to use...but can't find the players. :(

I have thought of starting a club at my local of game store called the Cluyb of Forgotten RPGs...and see if I can get somes games started that way. Mmmm maybe I'll talk to the owner about it...though it would be kinda of hard as most of those games are out of print...thus really don't sell.

I also one day hope that Fantasy Flight would update the setting of Midnight and Dragonstar to Pathfinder...but I think they are too atrracted right now to licensed products(Star Wars, Warhammer, Whathammer 40K)

So what no new questions to mark the new year?

Liberty's Edge

What monument would you like to see constructed?

lucky7 wrote:

One to RPGs...maybe Pathfinder specificaly.

Though this kinda of reminds of a Cards Against Humanity question...leading to a response that would have probably been censored

Anymore questions?

I am bored...somebody has to have a questions for me

Liberty's Edge

Why?

lucky7 wrote:
Why?

Sorry I have been sick lately.

Why What?

Sick? I hope it is nothing serious. I'll hope get well soon! :)

Here are some questions:

1 What did you think of the 10 new Base classes we’ll be getting in august?
2) Your favorites, and why.
3) The one you weren’t too hot on (and why).
4) Any classes you miss in the new book?

5) When it comes to the currecnt classes and skills, do you use any house rules?

I feel well enough to go to work today. So it was only my weekend that was destroyed.

Now to your questions...

1) Over all I think they did a great job with the classes and can't wait to see them in play.

2) My fovorites are the Swashbuckler...it looks like a cool way to do it
Shamen...I think they did a great job with this one. The Slayer, Hunter, and the Arcanist all look interesting also.

3) I think the Bloodrager gets too much from barbarian in that I don't see a reason to play barbarians when you can be a Bloodrager. Also I think the Skald can be problemic in that if your group does not communicate with each other the Skald could be sitting there just enraging himself. It is very...specfic. I really think this would have worked better as a bard archetype.

4) I would have really liked to see a rogue/wizard hybrid type class.

5) None in regards to classes...skills well it is not really a houserule per se but I sometimes will link other ability scores to a particular skill for certain skill tests if it makes sense. IE...If a character is trying to know what the apporpate courtesy in a forgien land I might allow them to roll Diplomacey using their Inbt score. Thingsa like that.

During your adventuring career, what has been your FAVORITE character.

lucky7 wrote:

That is a hard question....it is hard to pick a Favorite as I enjoy them all for different reason....but if I have to I pick my longest played character...

Which is a Champions(superhero RPG) character.

Romula is a mutant wolf with human level intelligence and telepathic abilities that got transformed into a super powered human being by a immortal evil former Catholic Priest to be a minion...he did not know she was a powerful telepath which allowed her to resist the mind control effects of the spell. When she escaped from him she wandered around in the wilderness. While wondering around the wilderness lost...scared ext. The Wolf Spirit visited her and taught her wolf shamen magic. So in wolf form she is a powerful telepath...in human form ahe is a shaman.

Though over the years she 'lost' her wolf form in sarcficing it to help a friend.

So it has been a week and no one has asked any question... :(

Other than Champions, what sort of superhero RPGs have you played (tabletop and / or online)?

Any particular favorites? (Game, system, setting, shared universe, sub-genre like 'street level heroes' or 'space opera / cosmic heroes' or 'golden age Nazi-busters.')

Any particular superhero favorites (specific characters or archetypes like 'tank' or 'flying zapper'), both to read stories about, and to play at the table (or online)?

Any particular superhero types that you find don't 'translate well' from medium to medium, and might be awesome to read about, but frustrating to play, or vice-versa?

Set wrote:

I have played the old TSR Marvel Super Heroes game and Brave New World. Nothing online.

For game system wise I like Champions...it might require time to learn but you really can do anything with the system.

I loved Brave New World for the setting.

I even liked the old Marvel Super Heroes system because I was always a big Marvel fan.

Set wrote:

I don't have any particular favorite types of Superheroes...besides ones that don't fit conviently in a category like 'brick' or 'energy projector'.

I find time mainpulation powers can be hard to do in a game but it work in other media. It is kinda of annoying to run 3 rounds of combat only to have a character 'rewind' time and do it all over again.

what is this only 1 question a week? I can answear a ton of question a week...you people are wasting a priceless resouce here. ;)

Still no question... :( *sigh*

Shakespeare is awesome!

John, what would be the best way for me to deal with the socially and spiritually crippling inferiority complex my ASD causes me?
