Have you ever heard of the "Astley Paradox"?

Spoiler:
If you ask Rick Astley for his copy of the movie UP, he cannot give it to you as he will never give you up. However, in not doing so, he lets you down.

Does Pathfinder 2nd have anything equivalent to D&D 5E's Wild Magic Sorcerer or Pathfinder 1st's Spellscar Mystery?

I dont think so.. but my knowledge of PF2E is not as encyclopedic as other game systems. I imagine though we will see something along those lines sooner or later.

Are we ready for the Warhammer version of D&D?

I think that would be good news for the competitors of D&D.

It took me just reading the rulebook what it took this guys a year of playing to figure out...and at least from what I heard did not draw the conclusion of the effect the illusion of options has on character creation.

Also he lost me when he went on what type of player would enjoy PF2E as it sounded to me a little bit elitist and badwrongfun.

It did crystallize my thoughts a little. RPGs trends seem to be going towards GM friendly at the expense I believe of being player friendly. And it doesn't seem to be any interest of seeking a balance between the two.

I think he was trying to give Paizo (as he says, a great company) as much of the "Benefit of Doubt" as possible. So possibly he tried too hard.

I see what you are saying about character creation. It really looks like the characters have more options then they really do.

True. Does that make him wrong though?

Finding a GM for a group may have become a problem.

Reading through the D&D 5E player's book though, what I am seeing is that WoTC is going back to the 1st/2nd edition paradigm. By moving a lot to flavor rather then crunch, they are giving players "more" freedom (which is, obviously, an illusion).

Agreed. Ironically, a Warhammer version for D&D 5E might be a great idea.

Inversely, an alliance with Paizo (i.e., a Warhammer version for Pathfinder 2E) might be a great move for GDW. The cross marketing would be beneficial for both companies.

It does make wrong him in regards to what type of player enjoys what.

All the new d3sign means is that bad GMs are GMing more. Which means you are just creating bad RP experiences. Ultimately in the end it will probably be ends TTRPGs.

Yes. Like def8nitly Lawful Evil. Hmmmm

Paizo I think is good company

WotC is racist, sexist and other ist....but I think they try so they are just stupid and ignorant.

Gamer Workshop is just pure evil in how they take advantage of customers and retailers.

Okay. Let's go in a different direction.

Have you worked with the Monster Creation section of the Pathfinder 2nd Edition Gamemastery Guide, p56-73?

Perhaps I need to read through it again, but I am having some trouble "grokking" it. :(

@Lord Fyre: So this is like normally the worst time of year for me normally adding on a really s!!$ty year. Can you stop asking questions about PF2E....those are not helping with the depression.

For at least like a month.

Do you eat breakfast? If so:

1) What do you prefer to eat for breakfast when time is short and you've got to run?

b) What do you prefer to eat for breakfast when you have plenty of time to prepare and eat/enjoy it?

π) What would you prefer to eat for breakfast if you were ordering in from hotel room service/restaurant delivery and you didn't have to worry about your budget?

Bonus question: Do you like peach cobbler? (I am attempting to make peach cobbler today for the first time.)

1) I like to get these premade breakfast sandwiches at a gas station I go to before work.

b) If I have time I either got to Wendy's and get a Breakfast Baconator or a bagel shop and get a Everything Bagel with Extra Cream Cheese.

Or my Mom makes me a omelet.

?) I would get a 3 egg omelet with cheddar cheese, bacon and sausage.

Bonus Question: I never had a Peach Cobbler that I enjoyed...but good luck with your first one.

Actually, I was surprised by Eberron (a WoTC product). Rokugan was the "non-golarion" setting I would have expected.

Also remember that many "literary" setting are also RPG settings.
For example I would have listed Hyboria (Robert E. Howard) since it has been adapted by at least three RPG publishers.

Eberron was a neat setting when it was new. Back before the 4th ed came along and pissed on all the settings.

Honestly though I really can't say I have a favorite setting...I like them all.

What number do you get when you multiply all of the numbers on a telephone’s number pad?
An apple is 40 cents, a banana is 60 cents. and a grapefruit is 80 cents. How much is a pear?
How can you make the following equation true by drawing only one straight line: 5+5+5=550?

By the way, a pear costs 40 cents.

The price of each fruit is calculated by multiplying the number of vowels by 20 cents.

Ahhh....I was going by size.
