Damage reduction and extra damage from various sources

Advice

In home games I've always ruled that DR applies to the weapon damage plus any extra damage from the likes of Flaming Weapon / Inspire Courage / Sneak attack etc...

I wanted to check this is actually correct, since the rules say: Spells, spell-like abilities, and energy attacks (even non-magical fire) ignore damage reduction.

Have I been doing it wrong? Should the extra damage from Shocking / Flaming weapon enchantments bypass DR?

Yes, the extra damage from the weapon properties should be going through the DR (but might be influenced by resistances).

Things like enhancement bonuses, sneak attack damage, and possibly Bane (as it just states it deals more damage that isn't typed) would be influenced by the DR.

Extra damage from things like sneak attack and inspire courage are just additional weapon damage and are affected by DR. Elemental damage from something like flaming is separate and is not affected by DR, but is subject to energy resistances and immunities.

Ok thanks, good to know!
