I'm starting RotR pretty soon, and one of my PCs took the Rich Parents trait, along with Favored Son/Daughter (Ameiko Kaijitsu). I secretly wanted her "rich parents" to be one of the four noble families of Sandpoint - Deverin, Kaijitsu, Valdemar, and Scarnetti. In the Anniversary Edition of RotR, page 375, it says, in regards to the deities represented in the Sandpoint Chapel:
"Four of these (Abadar, Gozreh, Sarenrae, and Shelyn)were patrons of the original founders of the Sandpoint Mercantile Consortium..."
I was just curious if anyone knows exactly which families worshiped which deities.
I've seen it noted somewhere (Her Jade Regent spread I believe) that Ameiko worships Sarenrae. I figured this was because of Sarenrae's near perfect resemblance to the Japanese sun goddess Amateratsu, whom it was believed gave divine right to Japan's emperors.
I'd match the other three families with the gods that match them best - such as Scarnetti (the loggers/shipbuilders, right?) with Shelyn (forest God I think, but my brain is shutting down because of the late hour).
I'd also recommend that if you intend to run the Jade Regent AP, Ameiko should remain a GMPC, or be aware you will have to replace a major NPC for that campaign.
Just incase of death or other nasty things. (The showdown at the glassworks can be hazard enough to her health as it is.)
Really, it's just a matter of renaiming either one so that you can create a "younger" sibling.
Her Jade Regent page has her worshipping Shelyn, actually. Which would likely be the patron of the Kaijitsu house. I suppose it makes sense for a family of glassworkers. Stained glass windows are probably more magnificent than shipyards and mills in that regard...
Now, the Vandemar's as the leading naval family in the town would likely worship Gozreh in his aspect of the god of the wind and waves, praying for favorable winds and such like.
That leaves Sarenrae and Abadar for the conservative Scarnetti's and the Deverins. I think Abadar is a better fit for the Scarnettis, which leaves Sarenrae as the last one standing.

Twigs is right. I actually had the two deities crossed when I typed it. It was late.
Shelyn is also the one I meant to compare to Amateratsu.
I also agree that this is topic I wouldn't mind clarification on from someone who had a hand in writing that line...
Actually, Golarion already has an Amaterasu counterpart; Shizuru, although she does bear a certain resemblance to Saraenrae as well.

That's what I thought at first, except that Kendra Deverin's cousin Gaven (owner of the Two Knight Brewery) is a paladin of Abadar.
