Does spirit shield stack with regular armor?

I'm making a high level oracle that uses the Ancestor mystery, I was curious if the spirit shield's armor bonus stacks on top of my breastplates armor bonus? Or does the does it go with the higher AC of the two?

You take the higher of two. Its like mage armor but free and as a class feature.

Edit: I should add that the fact it scales makes it better than mage armor, but oracles don't have any limitations on what armor they can wear.

With only a few exceptions, bonuses of the same type don't stack. Armor bonus never stack with other armor bonuses unless one of them specifically says so.
