Prone Flanking?

Rules Questions

We had a question come up yesterday.

PC1 - NPC - PC2

The PCs are flanking the NPC. PC2 goes prone for whatever reason. When PC1's turn comes up, PC2 is alert and awake but has not been able to get up from the prone position yet. Does PC1 still get the +2 flanking bonus?

Well the PC is still threatening so why wouldn't he? He might not be as threatening with his lower to hit, but he's still threatening.

That's what i thought. Th GM disagreed, but we we able to talk him into it.

I feel the need to point out that not only does PC1 still get the flanking bonus, BOTH PC's still get it.

If you threaten, you can contribute to flanking.

So yes, PC1 does get the bonus.

This comes up quite often with people getting kocked unconscious then being healed, they're often better off staying down than trying to get up and provoking etc.

True. As long as they can pick up their weapon or have a weapon they couldn't drop while unconscious, they can flank from the ground.
