I have a gaming laptop that I use as my computer. It came with an Asus Gx850, and I really like it. Sadly, however, the constant movement between rooms has frayed the cord of that mouse to the point that I don't think it will last much longer, so I've started looking for a replacement, with little luck so far. Seeing as how this is the biggest forum that I am involved in, here is where I turned.
Since I'm having to replace my current mouse because of problems with the cord, I would prefer one that is wireless. I do want one that is comfortable to hold, but I should hope that goes without saying. I'm not really concerned with DPI or programmable buttons, but there is one thing that I really like about my current mouse: the side buttons that sit above and below your thumb, that I use as a forward and back when browsing the web.
Any suggestions?

If you want a good mouse without paying a fortune I'd suggest a Logitech G400S. It's a cabled mouse - I had a wireless run out of battery in the middle of a tight CTF match. I've never used one since, but that's my prejudice, ymmv. The G400S is the descendent of the MX518 / G400 gaming mouse. I've used this line since the MX500 a decade ago (except for that one deviation into cordless pain) and I've always been satisfied. It's comfortable, has all the bells and whistles you're likely to want and runs about $50-60. My current gaming rig is a Sager 17" that set me back about $3000. If there was a substantially better mouse out there at twice the price I might go for it. But I haven't seen any that are significantly better. Logitech makes cordless ones of course and some of their gaming mouse run a $100. They also have one optimized for MMOs if that's your poison. I play mostly shooters and RPGs - naturally :)
