Dragon Disciple does it mesh well with any combat class?

Advice

I like the class but hate to play sorceress and bard I favor more combat classes. I really like the dragon disciple though any body ever meshed this class well with a combat class?

I'm doing a pitborn tiefling barbarian 3/ sorcerer 2/ dragon disciple 3. I'm having fun with the character.

There are several good melee combinations with Dragon Disciple.
Go for 1 level of Sorc (or Bard) and then 4 of paladin, ranger, warrior or barbarian.

Have a look for Oterisk’s Guide to the Dragon Disciple for more info.

thanks

I read the guide

Still a little confused basically I go barbarian and become a natural attack guy? I do not go caster?

That's one of the options. You should be able to go Fighter, Barbarian or Paladin and focus on two handed weapon as well but it benefits less from form of the dragon ability. Either option uses sorcerer spells to buff oneself - PF Dragon Disciple is better caster than it was in 3.5 but it's still not the main focus of the class.

You pick up 1 level in a caster class-sor bard or summoner-- pick out which class features you want more and treat your spellcasting as a small feature like a ranger or paladin spells.

I tend to still use weapons for better stats/crits and possibly reach, natural weapons are a great fallback though, and Bite can be used on top of any wielded weapons.
(given Claws/Bite's sort of ridiculous limited usages/day, spiked armor is still a good idea though)
Also consider the Class Abilities gained by the melee class past the minimum level needed to enter DD,
it can be very worthwhile to dip back in for a few levels to pick up some of those.
(for Barbs, level-pre-req Rage Powers are a big one, 8th level seems a major level for that)
If you do go Barb, just know that most of your spells will be better used before fully engaging in combat,
although 'Rage Cycle' strategies (Fatigue negation) can be useful for dropping rage mid-combat, casting, and re-raging.
Although if you recognize that and are OK with it, it means that having a 5% ASF (if you went Sorc casting and not Bard) is less disruptive than it is if you plan on casting lots of spells in-combat... If you are just pre-casting spells before combat you can usually delay combat to try again, and worst case you just don't have that buff up but you didn't waste a combat turn in the thick of things. Do consider asking your GM if you can use the 3.5 'archetype' for Sorceror, the Battle Sorceror, to allow casting in Light Armor (Mithril Medium) without ASF, sames some Feats and hassle, although I rarely have more than 1 attack spell (barring Cantrips like Disrupt Undead).

TO see a decent Barb/Fighter multiclass DD build, check out my alias for the profile of Hyundai Head-Smasher (Core+APG only).
He was built for an arena game, and so is kind of specifically built for that level (mixing 2Handed Fighter Archetype with Drunken Barb and 1 level of Sorceror) but I found him to be VERY effective. The good saves of DD are nice, in combo with 12-ish WIS and Iron Will you will have very solid saves (enough to pass vs. the DC of a min-maxed Witch a few times!). Although ironically in the arena game I didn't really use any casting at all, he just used scrolls and potions (at higher CL) although the spells were always another option. Remember the option for Pages/Rings of Spell Knowledge for expanding Spells Known. For attack spells I would choose one that is usefull for things that melee isn't, e.g. swarms.
