Ok sweet, thank you. The argument came up that was because it was stated as this.
You must be using a light, heavy, or tower shield to use this feat. Once per round when you would normally be hit with a ranged touch attack (including rays and similar magical effects), you may deflect it so that you take no damage from it. your shield suffers the full effects of the spell or effect, if applicable.
And so using the logic that because it explicitly states the word damage. That Ray shield would only be used in situations involving a ray (ranged touch attack) spell that has a damage component. IE: Scorching ray, etc etc.
So the issue is, if it does not do damage. Does Ray Shield work against it?

Since the damage inflicted by enervation is level drain, unless your shield is affected by level drain, then it takes no damage.
the last sentence (especially the last part of the last sentence) would cover this.

so if the damage type would not have an effect on the shield, it would not suffer any damage. The same would apply for Ray of Enfeeblement, etc.
