Level 1 character playing higher tier?

Liberty's Edge 2/5

This week end my niece is wanting to play and will have a new level 1 character. We will be doing scenarios 43 Pallid Plague 1-7 (1-2, 3-4, 6-7) and 45 Deliriums Tangle 1-5 (1-2, 4-5). Which sub tiers can she play in with her own character? Thanks for any help in figuring this out.

She can play in sub-tier 1-2 & 3-4 in a tier 1-7 scenario and in sub-tier 1-2 & 4-5 in a tier 1-5 scenario.

The rule is you can not play more than 1 sub-tier outside your character level, and your character level MUST be within the actual tier level range of the scenario itself.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

Ok thanks. One more question if you can. Can a level 3 play in the 1-5?

What Snig said.

Yes a level 3 can play up or down in tier 1-5.

Liberty's Edge 2/5

I didnt read Snigs answer right, but I see it now. Character level must be within actual tier level range. I was thinking sub tier with 3 between the two sub tiers. Now if I can just retain it. Thanks guys.

This is why now that they don't make 1-7s anymore. Cause 1-7s are really the only scenarios where you can be in level range of the scenario but not able to play a subtier in that scenario. (Level 1's and 2's can't play 6-7, Level 5's, 6's, and 7's can't play 1-2).

I think the intent was to keep level 1-2 from playing at 6-7 and vise-versa. Since level 5's are allowed to play sub-tier 1-2 in Tier 1-5 scenarios, I think it is okay for them to play sub-tier 1-2 in Tier 1-7 scenarios.

I'd be O.K. with it except I think technically it's not allowed, because it is still technically 2 subtiers away. The same rule would also apply to the specials as well, even though in those there is a subtier for a level 5.

This.

It seems odd, but that level 5 would be too high to play in subtler 1-2 of a 1-7, but not one in a 1-5 by the Guide. Either way, the level 5 is going to have virtually I challenge for minimal reward.
