Ok, so I'm looking to run a campaign where all of the players start out as new pathfinders. What I'm wondering is if that means they should all start out possessing Wayfinders. I've looked around and have not seen any mention of when pathfinders recieve those. While not terribly powerful, I'm slow to give first level characters a magic item. Any thoughts?
On a secondairy thought, I'm looking to create a campaign trait for all of them called Pathfinder Training: Choose one knowledge skill as a permanent class skill and you start play with a wayfinder.

The Pathfinder's Exile campaign trait from Council of Thieves kinda does that but it has the stipulation that you must repay the cash value of the wayfinder. It's a hefty boon at 1st level so I'd think carefully before just giving all of them a magic item. Perhaps let them purchase it at a 50% discount (250 gp) like in PFS?

I think a Pathfinder typically gets a Wayfinder once they past initiation, but that may not be entirely correct (since there are multiple ways of gaining initiation). My character received a Wayfinder (bequeathed to him by an npc friend) at level 1 and it didn't affect him at all. He was a bard and already had access to the light spell.
As long as you don't let them be sold right off the bat I don't see how it breaks anything, personally. If all your players are Pathfinders then having a Wayfinder should be a nice badge of honor. They aren't powerful at all, at least until you get an ioun stone. Good luck!
