I'd recommend you/he keep an eye on the latest Wayfinder thread(s) when they call for artists to illustrate submissions. It's a great way to gain exposure, and 3PPs are always looking for talented artisits who can deliver on time.

I'll second the idea of doing work for Wayfinder. In fact, the call for artists for issue #9 just went out days ago. There should still be time for him to do so.
