Fighting and balancing

Rules Questions

There is a situation coming up that requires the players to fight while balancing on 6 inch wide beems.

the stated acrobatics check for walking on these beems is DC 15

but how do i modify that in combat?

do they take -10 while moving at full speed? do they have to make an acrobatics check every time they swing or are hit?

do they get a +10 for attempting to move carefully?

the rules say that a person is falt footed while balancing and must make a new save when hit.

but what if a person wants to be more agressinve.. as in... they want to raise the DC in order to not be flat footed... as with a very accrobatic rogue or something.

The DC is 15. Being in combat doesn't change that. But balancing in combat does have another effect:

Quote:
While you are using Acrobatics in this way, you are considered flat-footed and lose your Dexterity bonus to your AC (if any).

A check is required if they try to move (up to 1/2 their speed). Another check is required each time they take damage.

Quote:
If you take damage while using Acrobatics, you must immediately make another Acrobatics check at the same DC to avoid falling or being knocked prone.

Trying to move more then half their speed in a round adds +5 to the DC.

Attempting to move carefully would be Taking 10 on the check. Something you can't do in combat.

Then you as a GM must make something up. As far as I know, the rules don't cover this.

Edit: Except for the Ledge Walker rogue talent. It allows a rogue to move at full speed without penalty, and to not be flatfooted while balancing.
