Basic cleric

Advice

Hi there , I recently started playing pathfinder and we have friend that wants to be a cleric but i'm not sure we understood its casting mechanic correctly.
I think from certain levels you are allowed to cast spells from the domains you selected. Any spell from the domains can be considered an orison spell(maybe?) once you can cast it. Aside from those each day you can cast only one spell/slot/rank multiple times according to the table to maximum of 5 (or does 4+1 mean once from one domain and 4 times from the other).

Also the part when it says additional spells depending on the wisdom check see table bla bla... does that mean that he can cast those spells ontop of the preparation/slots restrictions?

I am a bit confused and the book just almost skips over it without any concrete example or anything. Probably it's just me but that doesn't change the fact that i'm kinda stuck. Help please?

OK, let's do this :)

That "4+1" means you can prepare 4 spells from that level, before any other adjustments, from the cleric spell list. That "...+1" means you have one domain spell slot, which must be used to prepare a spell from one of the two domains you chose at first level.

The bonus spells you get from a high Wisdom score are shown on that table. You must be able to cast spells of the given level to get those spells. For example, a 1st level cleric with an 18 Wisdom has bonus spells listed as 1/1/1/1. You can only cast spells up to 1st level as a 1st level cleric, so you'll only get one additional 1st level spell to prepare and cast each day. When you make it to 3rd level, however, you can now cast 2nd level spells. So you'll now also gain an extra 2nd level spell to prepare and cast each day. These bonus spells are chosen from the cleric class spell list as per normal.

Orisons are 0th level spells. You may prepare a number of these each day as shown on the spell table for clerics. Each one you prepare may be cast an unlimited number of times each day. If you prepare detect magic and light, you can cast these all day long if you want.

This covers (barely) the basics. Hope it helps!
