I need some determining weapon hardness

Rules Questions

The Exchange

So I am trying to determine the weapon hardness and hitpoints of an Adamantine Dwarven Boulder Helmet, the Dwarven Boulder Helmet is located in the Advanced Race Guide.

The way I see it is it will have 20 hardness for being adamantine and then 60 hit points because Adamantine quality has 40 hitpoints and then 1/3 more hit points for any armor or weapons made entirely out of metal.

Am I reading this correctly?

As much as I hate to admit it, the boulder helmet is a light weapon, so while its hardness is most likely 20, due to the Adamantine, it probably only has 13 hit points. A base of 10, the same hit points listed for a light shield, which IMO is the closest "weapon" comparison, plus 3 because Adamantine has +1/3 hit points.

Seems like a semantic argument. If you take it in context (ie: it's a helmet!) it's a piece of armor that can be used as a weapon, just like a shield can be.
