Metal Oracle - Dance of the Blades

Rules Questions

From PRD:

Quote:

Dance of the Blades (Ex): Your base speed increases by 10 feet. At 7th level, you gain a +1 bonus on attack rolls with a metal weapon in any round in which you move at least 10 feet. This bonus increases by +1 at 11th level, and every four levels thereafter. At 11th level, as a move action, you can maneuver your weapon to create a shield of whirling steel around yourself until the start of your next turn; non-incorporeal melee and ranged attacks against you have a 20% miss chance while the shield is active. You must be wielding a metal weapon to use this ability.

Does this mean that the 10 ft speed bonus is contingent on wielding a metal weapon? Or just the attack bonuses?

Doesn't say the movement requires a metal weapon. Doesn't even bring up a metal weapon until the +1 to attack business. Can ask why your asking? I don't think I know many situations where this would come up?

Shadow Lodge

The speed bonus is permanent no matter what weapon you are or are not using. The metal weapon restriction only applies on the attack bonus and the 11th level shield of steel ability.

It would come up if you're don't have a weapon (it's sheathed, disarmed or sundered), or if a nonmetal weapon is superior vs the foe you're facing (rust monster, you just picked up a Holy Quarterstaff in the dungeon and ran into a devil, you're attacking at range with a bow). I'd expect to be holding a metal weapon more often than not, but I'd also expect to eventually be in a situation without one, and I'd want to know whether I'd still get my speed bonus.
